Race Between Blair And Beckner Heats Up

It's a sign of how heated the race for Hillsborough County Commissioner has become.

Former pro-wrestler and businessman, Brian Blair is trying to hold on to his district 6 commission seat against Democratic challenger, Kevin Beckner.

Late Thursday afternoon, the Beckner campaign told ABC Action News that a campaign sign located at 3301 W. Hillsborough Avenue at the corner of Lincoln in West Tampa was cut from its wooden frame and replaced with a Brian Blair sign. "It's pretty obvious who was responsible for this action" said Beckner campaign manager, Mitch Kates in an email sent to local media. When asked who he thought was responsible, Kates said, "The Blair Campaign".

On Friday, Commissioner Brian Blair denied any involvement in the missing signs by saying "I don't condone or advocate removing anyone's campaign materials." Blair went on to say that he suspects the Beckner campaign may be responsible for the removal of his signs from at least a half dozen locations.
