Undefeated Justin Lee conquers the X Division

Justin Lee has spent the past 4 years proving that he can compete with the bigger men in Oklahoma, but last Saturday, he returned to his roots by winning the NWA Universal X Division Championship.
Lee began the day teaming with his sometime partner Romero Contreras against Texas, Inc in the main event of an afternoon TPW show. Romero & Justin had to fight what was essentially a 2-on-3 match, as Funk & Timmy's manager, Flamon Raymon, continually interfered in the match. But it all proved to be for naught as Justin hit DDT on Bernard Funk and Romero crunched Timmy with the snowplow, scoring a double pin.
That night, Justin was the surprise opponent for NWA Universal X Division Champion Gary Gram. Gram's original opponent, Michael Strider, had not shown up, so at the last minute, Chris Fox had contacted Justin to step in. Although the match began as clean, scientific match, the crowd quickly sided with Justin and Gram began to show a more violent side to his personality. That change in attitude didn't help him, as, after a victory roll, Lee ended Gram's year-plus reign as X Division Champion.
In an exclusive quote for Oklafan, Justin had the following to say about his title win: "Critics say I'm not as big a star because I don't get out of Tulsa enough. In almost 5 years of wrestling in this state, you can only count on one hand the amount of singles title shots I have received. You could almost count on that same hand the number of singles defeats by pin or submission I have had in those five years. I still have a lot to prove here. Although TPW means a lot to me, NWA represents a chance to prove myself all over again. This also represents a chance to silence critics one more time. I appreciate Mr. Fox allowing me this opportunity to compete and win the X Division title, and I promise to wear that championship with honor."
Justin last competed for NWA-U last year at the Chris Candido Memorial Cup Tournament, where he advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Tyler Bateman, then losing to eventual co-winner Chase Stevens. He's spent most of 2005 competing for TPW, where he held the Tag Team Titles with Michael Faith. He is undefeated in TPW this year, scoring his 10th win with Romero against Texas, Inc.
