Farat Blinds Striker During Flag Match For MSWA Title

IZW Tag Team Champion Striker was seriously blinded after being hit in the face with a fireball by NWA-OK Oklahoma Tag Team and MSWA Mid-South Champion Al Farat. The heinous act accurred while Farat was defending his MSWA title against Striker in a No DQ/Flag On A Pole Match Sunday.
After reentering MSWA during the Lethal Lotto Tag Team Tournament, Striker took great offence to the actions of Al Farat, most notably an attempt on Farat's part to burn the American Flag. Striker issued a challenge to face Farat for the title, but Farat managed to dodge this challenge (and several others) while defending his belt against lesser competition.
As long as the belt was being defended, there wasn't much that MSWA commissioner Halo could do about it. But on May 11, Halo came out and announced to the crowd that Farat was not present and that it had been well over 30 days since the MSWA title had been defended. So he had no choice but to strip Farat of the belt. This brought out Striker, who said he didn't want Farat to lose the title by being stripped of it. He wanted to beat the Arab villain in the ring for the title. He insisted that Farat be allowed to keep the belt so he could do that and proposed that the belt be put up for grabs in a Flag On A Pole Match. Whichever opponent could get their flag off of a pole in the corner would be the winner and MSWA champion. Halo set the match for June 1st and Striker seemed pleased.
Due to unforseen circumstances, Striker was unable to make it to the June 1st show, but when June 22 rolled around, Striker was more than prepared. The previous week, he and Nathan Sensation had defeated the New Age Syndicate for the IZW Tag Team Titles, beginning their third reign with the belts. On June 21, Striker & Sensation beat the NAS by DQ, resulting in their being fired from IZW. So Striker walked into the MSWA ring and met with Jesse Storm full of confidence. Storm spoke as a Desert Storm veteran and thanked Striker for what he was about to do and asked Striker if he was ready. He said he was more than ready. When he got ahold of Al Farat, it was all going to be over. There would be no DQ, no 1-2-3. He promised to break every bone in Farat's face. He finished by saying that the belt might be the prize, but he was really fighting for the flag.
When the main event came, the crowd waited impatiently for both men to arrive. Striker entered to the joyous cheers while Farat came out to the mocking chants of "Where's my Slurpee?" and "Camel jockey!" Due to the No DQ clause, Farat did not feel compelled to hide his typical underhanded tactics and used the foreign objects he brought to the ring in full view of referee Rob Justice. But the tide really turned when Farat's fellow High Society member (and NWA-OK Oklahoma Tag Team Championship partner) Thomas Trump arrived to "observe" the action. Trump bided his time, then distracted Striker and the referee while slipping Farat a lighter. Farat then launched a fireball straight into the face of Striker and, after Striker hit the mat in agony, Farat grabbed the Middle Eastern Flag and waved it at the irate fans.
The condition of Striker is unknown at this time, although it is suspected that he suffered injury to at least one of his eyes. Due to the No DQ clause, MSWA authourities are limited in the action they are allowed to take against Farat. Any decision regarding his actions should be announced at the next MSWA event on July 6.
Needless to say, Independence Day will not be the most pleasant time this year for Striker and his family.
