Rocco Valentino forced off TPW roster!
Posted: Apr 26th 2006 By: oklastaff
In recent weeks, the disagreements between Oklahoma Old School Champion Rocco Valentino and Dexter Hardaway have grown, starting with message board postings and ending most recently in a physical confrontation at the TPW show on April 8 where Rocco pulled Dexter across the safety rope and tried to physically injure him. But things were taken to a brand new level this week when Dexter took legal action against Rocco.
Dexter arrived to the TPW show just prior to intermission with a legal document in his hands. He entered the ring and asked TPW commissioner Kitty to read the document, which stated that a restraining order had been placed on Rocco and that Rocco was ordered to apologise to Dexter for his actions 2 weeks previously. Rocco came out to the ring area outraged and reminded everyone that there would be no Oklahoma wrestling in the Tulsa area without him. He pointed out that Dexter used to be in the audience at the World Wrestling Empire shows (where Rocco started) with nWo signs and also reminded Kitty that she used to sit at the OCW shows and ask the wrestlers for autographs. A threat of physical intimidation against Kitty followed, which brought out Romero Contreras to Kitty?s aid. Rocco had just defeated Romero earlier that night to become the #1 contender to the TPW Oklahoma title held by Michael Faith. More heated arguements followed where Rocco refused to back down from his stance and Kitty was forced to inform Rocco that if he didn?t apologise, he would be removed from the TPW roster (per the legal document) and his Oklahoma title shot would be given to Dexter. Rocco did not budge on his stance and security was brought out to escort him from the arena.
Rocco has been a staple of Oklahoma wrestling since 1995. He worked in the WWEmpire and MCW before starting his own company, OPW, which ran from 1997 until 2001. Rocco then competed for OCW and most recently TPW.
No statement from Mr. Valentino regarding his status at this time could be gained, but Oklafan will keep you updated on any further developments as they occur.
