IZW Impact Division Title held up

IZW Impact Division Title held up

Posted: Apr 29th 2008 By: mikeiles

Kenny Campbell has been IZW Impact Division Champion for 4 months. During his title reign he has successfully defended the title against Nathan Sensation, Black Mamba 5, Se7en, John O'Malley, and Jermaine Johnson. But one contender has been a constant thorn in the side of "The Vulture". That contender is Dustin Heritage.

Campbell successfully defended the title against Heritage on March 15th at "March Mayhem" but that match ended in controversy as originally IZW referee Randy Martini made the 3-count on Campbell, but Campbell's foot was under the bottom rope. IZW Commissioner Mike Iles ordered the match restarted and Campbell picked up the win rather quickly after the restart. But Heritage did defeat Campbell on March 8th which earned him the title shot at "March Mayhem" and again on April 19th which earned him another title shot this past weekend.

On April 26th, both men were eager to put away the other and put an end to the feud once and for all. After several minutes of grueling action, both men were down and both men's shoulders were down. Each put an arm on the other, and Martini made the three count on both Campbell and Heritage. Another match ends in controversy. IZW Commissioner Mike Iles came out and said he was unable to see conclusively who won the match so he declared the title held up. Iles said he would watch the tapes of the match and make an announcement next week.

As of right now the IZW Impact Division Title is vacant pending investigation. What will Commissioner Iles rule on this situation. Both Campbell and Heritage can stake claim to the title. But the official word is forthcoming.

Other News & Notes for the IZW show:
The show started with Michael Barry & John Zorthos in the ring demanding to speak with Bernie Donderwitz & Gary Tool. The two former members of Impact, Inc. entered the ring cautiously. Zorthos demanded his money bag back and Donderwitz said that he and Tool just got back from Las Vegas where they did not have a string of what you would call good luck. After Donderwitz & Tool accepted the challenge of a tag team match against Zorthos & Barry, Johnny Z revealed the ace up his sleeve. He brought out Ron Reagan, a local police officer, who arrested Bernie D for theft. In the tag team match, Tool fought valiantly but looked defeated until Bernie D ran in, made the tag, and delivered the Sky High to Zorthos to pick up the win. Apparently, Donderwitz posted bail just in time.

Jermaine Johnson continues to amaze during his rookie year, but he did get a bit of assistance in his match against Seth Allen. During the match, John O'Malley's music began to play which distracted Allen allowing Johnson to pick up the win.

IZW Commissioner Mike Iles signed two new superstars to IZW contracts this past week and they were showcased against one another in a match. Philliberto Marco, the luchador from Vera Cruz, Mexico picked up the win over Austin Tacious, who hailed from Ventura, CA. Both wrestlers were nervous for their first time in front of an Oklahoma crowd but I am sure we are all looking forward to seeing more from these two.

Nathan Sensation & Striker continue to be one of the best tag teams in Oklahoma. They defeated Tyson Jaymes & Se7en this past week although Se7en was a little reluctant to get the tag from Jaymes and get in the ring. Se7en eventually desserted his partner in the match. After the match, Nathan Sensation tried to help Jaymes up and he pushed away the assistance. Sensation & Striker look geared up to win the IZW Tag Team Titles for a 3rd time. The New Age Syndicate should best be prepared.

IZW has events each and every Saturday at The Impact Arena in Oklahoma City at 5325 S. Penn Ave. Just a few miles north of I-40 on Penn. Admission is just $5, that is the best value for your wrestling dollar. Remember this week at the show, Commissioner Iles will make a ruling on the Impact Division Title.

Advance tickets for the June 14th "Evolution" event will go on sale soon as well. Those tickets will also be only $5 and that event will feature former WWE superstar Al Snow. You won't want to miss that either.

IZW...FEEL THE IMPACT!!!
