Who will Brandon Bishop challenge on June 13th?

Who will Brandon Bishop challenge on June 13th?

Posted: Apr 17th 2008 By: mikeiles

WE'VE NARROWED IT DOWN!

Curiosity arrives when the Owner of ACW informs us that we need to cover the fact that he will be kicking off the June 13th event with a special challenge... The curiosity comes with the fact that he's not telling anyone who it is. Apparently though, this challenge has been accepted by this individual and this match will take place upon the beginning of the June 13th event at The Phil Long Expo Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

So, since this mystery has indeed intrigued all of us, we decided to put in a few minutes of overtime and narrow our mental list down to just five potential names that may have received this challenge from Bishop. Now granted we could be very wrong here, so don't expect anything we're predicting, it's all gossip at this point...

(In No Particular Order)

1. SE7EN

SE7EN was the first ever ACW Heavyweight Champion. He went on to hold Tag Team Gold, and reign 5x's as ACW Institutional Champion... SE7EN and Brandon Bishop share a brutal history in ACW, competing against one another in Barb Wire matches, Cage Matches, Ladder Matches, Thumbtack Matches, and devastating each other over the course of several years...

REASON WHY BISHOP MIGHT CHALLENGE HIM:
The Bishop/Se7en feud never really came to an end. No one truly came out a winner after the smoke from this war settled down. Both have often spoke about one more blood bath to end a nearly seven year fight.

REASON BISHOP MIGHT NOT CHALLENGE HIM: At last appearance Bishop & Se7en were on the same page. In Wichita Falls they briefly relit their feud but ended up being on the same team. Of course not everything is covered in the news and the hatred may have reared it's ugly head once more over the past couple years.

2. JOHN O'MALLEY

John O'Malley is a two time former ACW Champion, three time Tag team Champion, and 7x Institutional Champion, as well as former commissioner in ACW.

REASON WHY BISHOP MIGHT CHALLENGE HIM:
These two have spent the better part of the past 6 years either being best of friends or the worst of enemies. But just recently the bad blood boiled outside of the ring during the stripping of the ACW title incident with O'Malley. Bishop takes ACW business seriously as can be, and anyone that tarnishes it's image may find themselves a major target.

REASON BISHOP MIGHT NOT CHALLENGE HIM: Bishop and O'Malley have both seemingly moved on from the incident and you rarely hear either one even mention the other. It's seems like a long shot that either would spend the time or miles rekindling this feud.

3. PAYTON SCOTT

Payton Scott stole the ownership of ACW from Brandon Bishop in 2003 and kept it for nearly two years as Bishop struggled to even stay in the company that he created. Payton was also a former ACW Champion & two time Tag Team Champion. Injuries and location took Payton out of ACW, but this is a feud that will never die out.

REASON WHY BISHOP MIGHT CHALLENGE HIM:
The Payton Scott/Brandon Bishop feud lasted for years and was one of the most bitter feuds in Indy Wrestling history. Many of the events that came out of this feud are still talked about to this day. The levels of emotion that took place in this battle were off the charts and a rebirth of this hatred could easily be reignited at any point. Payton is responsible for acts such as bringing out Bishop's 2-year old daughter to the ring in 2004, faking his death to get the ACW title off of Bishop, and too many other acts to mention.

REASON BISHOP MIGHT NOT CHALLENGE HIM:
Bishop & Payton briefly worked out their differences towards the end of Payton's tenure in ACW, and it was actually BISHOP that struck back in a negative manner at last conflict. But recently on the ACW forum Payton made a few remarks about how Bishop has not seen the last of him... Hmmm... It would take some catching up in the eyes of the NEW ACW fans, but hatred certainly sells tickets

4. JEREMY QUINN III

Jeremy Quinn is a local business owner in Colorado that received a considerable amount of cash from his late father. Last June, Quinn made his presence known during an ACW event, and revealed that he was interested in buying out ACW from under Brandon Bishop. A legal battle ensued which cost Bishop thousands in legal fees. In the end Quinn was unable to take-over ACW legally, and due to the ACW hiatus, nothing has been mentioned or reported since.

REASON WHY BISHOP MIGHT CHALLENGE HIM:
When Bishop gets pissed at someone, especially for messing with his baby (ACW), he tends to not let things just float under the bridge. Quinn cost Bishop a lot of money, time & concern. Bishop won't just let that go.

REASON BISHOP MIGHT NOT CHALLENGE HIM: Quinn has made it clear that he's a business man and NOT a pro wrestler. Though Quinn might be interested in acquiring ACW, he has expressed zero interest in being an in ring talent. Also at last word Quinn was not allowed into an ACW event by court order.

5. JOHN ZORTHOS

John Zorthos is an ACW original. a 4x Tag Team Champion (2x's with Bishop). Zorthos is also the owner of IZW wrestling in Lawton, OK. The phrase "Best of times, Worst of times" could not reflect a relationship any more suited that the one between Bishop & Zorthos.

REASON WHY BISHOP MIGHT CHALLENGE HIM:
There are too many reasons why Bishop would want to once again beat the annoying out of John Zorthos. Zorthos has been a thorn in the side of Bishop, ACW & Indy Wrestling in general for too many years to count at this point, and putting Zorthos in a permanent state of vegetation would certainly be high on his list of things to accomplish before it's all over. Bishop and Zorthos even have negative history in Colorado already, and this would be our safest bet as to who Bishop is challenging.

REASON BISHOP MIGHT NOT CHALLENGE HIM: While Bishop enjoys beating up John Zorthos, bringing him anywhere near ACW doesn't seem worth it. While Bishop still talks about his hatred for Zorthos, it seems unlikely that he would bother with him in any manner from this point on. Bishop recently said that he's "outgrown" Zorthos and his many demons, and so has ACW.
