Gentleman Thugs Reunited!

September 1, 2007. It was the last time that Cast-Iron Cothern was in a ComPro ring. Due to the bragadocious nature of his manager, Boss Campbell, Cothern was forced into a match that, if he lost, he would have to leave ComPro for 6 months. That match was against the Canadian Red Devil and after a long and arduous competition, the Devil stood supreme and Cothern was forced to walk out of the arena, not to return for half a year.
Many people had forgotten about Cothern. His name didn't come up in message board discussions or in promos, even by his associates like Campbell or Shane Morbid. But during the time off, Cothern kept in constant contact with Morbid, arranging for the moment to make his return. And that moment came this past Saturday, during a match between Morbid and Justin Lee.
Lee, who had also made his return to ComPro about a month ago after a severe injury, was fully prepared to face off against his long-time rival. Their battles over the ComPro Oklahoma X Division Title are still talked about. And \Morbid took no chances, waiting to ambush Justin as he walked through the curtain. But Justin was ready for this and met Morbid on the outside, fists flying and both men pounding each other with everything they had.
The match then went into the ring and Morbid quickly began to dominate Justin with strong-style offence. But every time Morbid went to pin Justin, the most he could get was a 2-count. A brief rally by Justin saw him pin Morbid in the corner and hit him with a flurry of fists to the head, but that ended with a quick clothesline, just as it seemed Justin had things turned around. Again, it wasn't enough. Morbid's devestating stoumach-stomp/Senton splash combination, which he has used to polish off other opponents, also gained just a 2-count. The frustration began to show on Morbid's face as he wondered just what it would take to put Justin down for 3.
What it took was the surprise return of Cast-Iron Cothern, who was watching on the monitor in the back and knew it was time to play his hand. With Boss Campbell distracting the referee, Cothern ran to ringside and entered the match, allowing a 2-on-1 attack on Justin. He delivered a devestating maneuvre to Justin, then pulled Shane on top and Boss turned the ref around to see the pinning predicament. 3 seconds later, Justin was finally defeated. The Gentleman Thugs stood proud in the ring celebrated their reunion.
Justin's continued losses have done nothing to help his return effort. Last week, he lost the FCW Tag Team Title and suffered what was believed at the time to be a concussion. This week, it was a 2-on-1 attack. Justin seemed extremely frustrated and vented some of that anger at one of the fans at ringside, calling him an "idiot." It certainly seems that the fans have not responded to Justin as in the past, with at least half the crowd cheering the actions of the Gentleman Thugs in this instance.
While not officially announced, it seems a safe bet that Cothern, Morbid and Lee will all be competing in the Battle Royal this Saturday to earn a match against ComPro Oklahoma X Division Champion Cold Blooded Chris. Justin is desperate to prove that he personifies the X Division. Morbid wants to regain the title from someone he thinks he should never have lost it to. And Cothern...well, Cothern is always happy to fight anyone, no matter what the cause is.
