Bruce Prichard may be stepping down from WWE soon.
PWInsider reported on Tuesday that Prichard, who currently is the Executive Director – Creative Writing & Talent, is expected to retire from his position after WrestleMania 43 next year. Despite his retirement, he is expected to remain connected to the company on a consulting basis, but would not carry his current duties or live in Stanford.
Another source told PWInsider that while the retirement is expected after WrestleMania, plans could always change and there could be additional time after that.
Dave Meltzer and Sean Ross Sapp has also confirmed PWInsider’s story.
Bruce Prichard’s long WWE run
Prichard’s work with WWE dates back to 1987, first working as an announcer before adopting the on-screen character Brother Love, a red-faced preacher who preached the “word of love.”
In 1991, the character was retired, but Prichard continued to work backstage, working closely with Vince McMahon. He remained in a backstage role until his release in 2008.
During his time away from the company, he worked for TNA and MLW and also started his own podcast, Something to Wrestle With. He returned to the company in 2019 where he has remained since
