Brie Bella: Gail Kim ‘doesn’t get enough credit’

Often regarded as a prominent figure in women’s wrestling, especially in TNA, Gail Kim’s work was recently heavily praised by WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella.

Recently speaking on The Nikki & Brie show, Brie Bella discussed how Kim does not get enough credit for her work in the industry.

“Gail Kim I learned so much from. I mean the way she moves in the ring and the way her brain works. I mean, she’s so fluid. She’s so creative, but at the same time, I was always in awe with her wrestling. I was just like, you make it look so easy. Like, she even when you put a match together with her, it always was easy with Gail Kim.

“She always had incredible ideas. She made every move look easy. I mean, she made you feel like you could be a high flyer, even if you never did it in your life. Like, she just was one of those talents that I don’t think gets enough credit because she’s just incredible. Absolutely incredible,” Bella said.

In the same podcast, the veteran further opened up and claimed that the same could be said about Kharma, aka Awesome Kong. “Same goes for Kharma. I mean, Nikki [Bella] and I, when we did that storyline with her was actually really hard on us. It was our first time when we really had to work on being just such mean girls and these heels and have to be able to know like whatever you say it’s like this is, you know, characters.

“This is, you know, fiction. Like, you know, it was just we had to really put our feelings to the side and go out there and just be these monster heels. But she was another one who just made wrestling feel so easy. And for someone who could go in there and be such a beast in the ring, she was so light,” she added.

They also opened up and added Beth Phoenix to that list. Brie Bella added that Phoenix was one of the greatest workers in the ring, and she reminded her of Bryan Danielson.

“She actually I will say Beth reminds me a lot of when I’m wrestling Bryan, where you can be wrestling around with them and you know like you’re just doing a match on the fly and you’re wrestling around and you know they’re calling it but they’re calling it to make you look good. Like they want to make you have the best match of your career with them. And I felt like that was Beth. Like she just made you look better than what you were,” Bella said.
