Bill Goldberg: "When I think of the WWE, I want to throw up!"

Former WWE and WCW superstar Bill Goldberg spoke exclusively to WrestleMag's Phil Lowe earlier today for a quick interview to talk about his run with WWE, whether the rumours of him signing with TNA are true, and plenty more

Phil Lowe: It's been a while since we saw you in a wrestling ring; your last appearance being at WWE\'s Wrestlemania 20 PPV. With Wrestlemania 22 fast approaching, what memories of your WWE run do you have nearly two years since leaving the company?

Bill Goldberg: When I think of WWE I want to throw up. Needless to say, it left a bad taste in my mouth.

PL: Your last match at Wrestlemania (against Brock Lesnar) on paper had all the requirements for a high impact match, although it's fair to say that wasn't how the match turned out. What did you think of the match itself?

BG: The match with Brock Lesnar and I could have been built up as one of the largest matches in history, with the emphasis on "could have". With the company not putting much steam on the match, and really not caring about it, it was difficult for Brock and myself to carry a lot of enthusiasm and boy, did it show!

PL: Given that WCW always booked you as a monster who could not be defeated, how disappointed were you with the way WWE management booked you? The backstage promo with Goldust springs to mind as an example of how you were booked to look like?.well?not like Bill Goldberg!

BG: I was appalled at the way WWE chose to alter my character. Whether it was an ego thing or not on their part, it was not a good business decision to say the least.

PL: Since parting ways with WWE, you've been involved in projects other than wrestling. Do you miss being in the ring at all?

BG: Yeah I miss being in the ring, but only because of my ability to interact with the fans. I've since found other ways to reach the public.

PL: Last year saw you appear in the hugely popular "The Longest Yard". What was it like to work with the likes of Adam Sandler and Chris Rock?

BG: It was awesome to be able to work with Chris Rock, Adam Sandler and Burt Reynolds. It was kind of like being at your own, private comedy fest.

PL: Do you find shooting movie scenes more difficult than wrestling?

BG: No I don't find shooting movie scenes more difficult than wrestling.

PL: You\'ve said in the past that you\'d make a return to wrestling if it was in the right situation. Given that the only real options in the United States are WWE or TNA, how likely is it that fans will see Bill Goldberg return to WWE or TNA programming in the future?

BG: Never say never.

PL: Whenever TNA hint at a major announcement, we receive tons of emails asking if you\'ve signed with the promotion. Have TNA approached you in the past about coming in in some capacity to work with them?

BG: Yes, TNA has approached me on many different levels about working for them. And like I said, "Never say never"!

PL: Do you watch either WWE or TNA on TV at all?

BG: No.

PL: You\'ve talked in the past about doing a MMA fight. Is that still an option for you?

BG: Again - never say never.

PL: Finally, just what does the future hold for Bill Goldberg?

BG: His name is Gage AJ Goldberg, and now he's the man! By the way that is the name of my son that is due on June 8!
