Val Venis rips Power Slap after Jake Hager's horrific injury

Jake Hager’s latest Power Slap appearance has sparked another wave of criticism toward the controversial combat sport.

And former WWE star Val Venis has made his position very clear.

After Hager suffered a serious eye injury during Power Slap 23, Venis took to social media and called Power Slap
the “world’s dumbest game,” arguing that he doesn’t consider it a sport at all.

Venis went even further, describing it as a “dumb and dangerous game” and urging Hager to walk away from Power Slap.

The comments came after Hager was left bleeding from his eye and ear following a slap from Johnny Magna. A doctor stopped the contest, and Hager later underwent emergency eye surgery.

Power Slap CEO Dana White also described Hager’s injury as potentially one of the worst injuries he had seen in UFC or Power Slap and said his production team was instructed not to replay the incident on the broadcast.

Venis ended his message by specifically urging Hager to change course and move away from Power Slap.

Hager, who wrestling fans know as former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger, has already undergone surgery and is currently recovering. The specific details of the injury and his recovery timeline have been kept private.

Now the big question is whether this injury changes Hager’s future in slap fighting.
