Mickie James recalls scrapped WWE debut as CM Punk’s manager

Mickie James was really close to debuting on-screen in WWE as CM Punk’s manager.

Before becoming obsessed with Trish Stratus on WWE television, James almost made her WWE debut as CM Punk’s manager, Vicky Adams.

Speaking on Wrestling Life Online and Tall Oak Productions, James shared how there were almost five incidents where she made her WWE debut before those angles were eventually scrapped. One such angle was Punk’s manager.

“I was supposed to debut probably five times with different ideas that they had come up with or whatever, and none of them stuck, including debuting with CM Punk on Sunday Night Heat as his manager. Vicky Adams, I think. That’s what I kept going, like, ‘Where does this Vicky Adams keep coming from on my Wikipedia? Somebody delete that. I don’t know who she is.’ But I guess that was the name that they used when I was supposed to debut with him. It didn’t. It lasted that night is what it did,” James said.

James eventually made her official WWE television debut on the October 10, 2005, episode of WWE Raw. She was soon involved in a storyline with Stratus. Punk later made his WWE TV debut for the ECW brand on August 1, 2006.
