Medical issue caused Ric Flair to miss Cauliflower Alley Club reunion

Posted: Aug 28th 2026 By: Joseph Currier

A medical issue caused Ric Flair to miss his scheduled appearance at the Cauliflower Alley Club’s 60th annual reunion this week.

Flair was supposed to attend the August 26 banquet and receive the Iron Mike Mazurki Award. Instead, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Jimmy Hart accepted the award on behalf of Flair. He did still appear via video, though, with Flair apologizing for not being able to make it. Flair explained that he has a blood clot in his leg that’s preventing him from traveling this far at the moment. He has an appearance in Pennsylvania this weekend and wouldn’t have been able to do this Vegas travel on top of that.

Despite the health issue, Flair said he feels great and hopes to stay like that for a while.

“I have a blood clot in my leg, so I can’t travel the five or six hour trips that it takes to go to get there,” Flair, 77, said. “But I wanted to thank you all for coming out tonight, honoring me. I’m so honored.”

Flair also voiced support for the Cauliflower Alley Club’s mission and mentioned making a personal donation to the cause. The organization, currently run by Brian Blair of the Killer Bees, financially assists wrestlers and former wrestlers who have fallen on hard times.
