Former WWE star Al Snow has lashed out at Triple H and Nick Khan for always taking the spotlight in media conferences. Speaking on Vince Russo’s “The Brand” podcast, the wrestling veteran said it’s “bad business” when backstage personalities like Triple H and Nick Khan become the face of the company. “Triple H is the same thing in that he's at the forefront. His voice is on every piece of advertising for WWE. He is the face of WWE. Why? No one's buying a ticket to see Triple H anymore. He is behind the scenes. He's the writer. And I've always had a problem with that, where you put someone who has that much power behind the camera in front of it, it never goes well. It's always bad business because it's just human nature,” said Snow. Snow’s point? Hunter’s job is creative - weaving storylines behind the scenes. The talent should be front and center selling those stories, not the executives doing interviews and revealing stuff. When the writer becomes the star, the magic gets messy.

Karrion Kross says Triple H not contacting him after being released from WWE actually hurt him. Appearing on “The Ariel Helwani Show”, Kross said “It bothered me, but I try to tell myself that there are things going on that are so strange that might not occur to you—that perhaps he is no longer in a position to speak to talent anymore once they exit, because I’m not an isolated situation. I’m not throwing shade at him at all, but I don’t think anyone understands the nature of his position. Everyone just thinks he’s just the boss and nothing is attached to that. I think there’s a whole new hierarchy and things above him, and perhaps he’s even told not to contact talent afterwards—maybe. But it did bother me. It bothered me very, very much.”

The street near the school that Jerry Lawler attended will be renamed after the wrestling great. A quarter mile of the road near Treadwell Middle School will be named after “The King”. The Memphis City Council, during its June 9th meeting, passed a resolution renaming Homer Street between Given and Rhea Avenues. The item was on the council's consent agenda and passed with all present council members supporting it. A date for the street renaming was not announced at the time the resolution was passed. Lawler, 76, was born in Memphis and rose to stardom in the wrestling scene, where he debuted in 1970. He would go on to be an actor in movies and television shows, a comic book illustrator, a recording artist, a restaurateur with a Beale Street bar, and a sports commentator.

Jim Cornette tore into the “Freedom 250” events on the latest “Jim Cornette Experience”, taking aim at the collapsing concert series, the UFC's White House card, Dana White, and Donald Trump. On the fair, Cornette said the goal was to "milk the rubes into thinking that the United States is still not in deep s***." On the concert lineup falling apart: "They were booked under false pretenses and lied to about who was putting it on. It sounds like a wrestling f***ing fiasco." On how far it has unraveled: "How bad must this f***ing thing be when Milli Vanilli doesn't want... to be a part of it?" ... "We still get Vanilla Ice and Flo Rida. Oh, this is a disaster." On Kid Rock: "Every time you see him, [he] looks like somebody vomited American flags on the corpse of Gregg Allman." On the UFC's White House card: "Dana White said he's gonna lose $30 million putting on that fiasco of a fight at the White House." On Dana White: "He's joined at the hip with Shitler [Donald Trump], but they're going to spend $30 million of company money to praise Trump's fragile ego and pet him and tickle his taint." On what White gets for it: "Praise the dictator, and tell him how good he looks, and how much he's done for him, and then he'll give him the $30 million back in some type of convoluted tax break." On the card itself: "There's no Conor McGregor, there are no Jon Jones." On the state of the White House grounds amid construction: "The only thing left is where's the f***ing trailer park?"
