Big Stevie To The Rescue!

Stevie Caballero made a surprise return to ComPro Saturday, coming to the rescue of former charge Tim Rockwell. Rockwell had just pulled off a hard-fought victory over ComPro Tag Team Champion Jesus Rodriguez and quickly subjected to a 2-on-1 beat down by Rodriguez and his manager, Ray Martinez. It seemed like Rockwell was going to be seriously injured until Caballero came bursting through the curtains from backstage, jumped into the ring and scared off the members of La M.

Caballero's return was greated with a standing ovation from the ComPro fans, which is interesting to note since Caballero had often been the subject of fan scorn during his long stint as the manager of Texas, Inc in 2007.

Caballero and Martinez have a long association with each other, although they've rarely been teammates. Caballero granted his ringside assistance to Martinez and his fellow P.I.N.K. Nation members as they faced Team SRPW and defeated them in a Wargames style match to shut SRPW down in 2005. Martinez retreated to Cancun, Mexico while Caballero aligned himself with Tim Rockwell and Bernard Funk and went on to gain the ComPro and SWCW Tag Team titles together. While in SWCW, Caballero and Martinez again had some opportunities to work together, as Martinez had been recruited into Corporate America. But there was nothing long term and eventually both men left the federation.

After losing the ComPro Tag Team Titles to Sudden Impact, the relationship between Caballero and Texas, Inc. began to quickly dissolve. Funk & Rockwell blamed all their losses on the ill-timed interference of Caballero and Stevie's mental health began to be questionable, as he took to carrying a big blue stuffed gorilla around and calling it "Timmy J" after he was fired by Funk & Rockwell. Caballero last appeared in a ComPro ring in November, only a week or 2 before Martinez made his debut.

While they may have been friendly before, after Martinez's actions it's pretty clear that Stevie and Ray will not be exchanging Valentine's gifts anytime soon. Caballero has made it clear on the ComPro message board that he's back, he's there to keep any further attacks on Rockwell from happening. And while Bernard Funk hasn't been teaming with his nephew recently, Rockwell has found a sometime-partner in the form of El Super Colibri, as both of them seem to have drawn the ire of La M. With Stevie providing the outside eyes, perhaps now Rockwell & Colibri will finally end the bully tactics of the ComPro Tag Team Champions once and for all.
