Impact, Inc. membership grows again
Posted: Feb 12th 2008 By: mikeiles
Impact, Inc. may not be the most exclusive faction in pro wrestling. But they are becoming one of the more powerful. The faction has always had the power of the pen since its founding member, John Zorthos, was also owner of Impact Zone Wrestling. Now with the recent addition of IZW Heavyweight Champion Tommy Revell, they also has the firepower to boot.
When IZW Commissioner Mike Iles came to the ring during the February 9th show, he did not seem too happy. Just seven days earlier, he suffered an attack by Impact, Inc. The attack was orchestrated by John Zorthos but mostly carried out by the newest Impact, Inc. member Michael Barry. Iles called out Zorthos who came to the ring alone for a change. Iles started off by saying he thought about suspending Zorthos but had he done so, the IZW show would have been cancelled because Zorthos is also the promoter. Iles also said that he was surprised that Zorthos would have come to the ring alone, although he knew for a fact that Michael Barry was not in the building as his new IZW contract was under investigation and as of that time Barry was not officially an employee of IZW, much less a member of Impact, Inc. Johnny Z responded by saying that he had given Brad Michaels the night off. Iles said that from day one when he stepped into IZW, he would give the fans what they wanted and he knew they wanted to see Johnny Z get his butt kicked one more time. So in the main event, Johnny Z would be facing Angel Williams one more time.
Later in the evening a video aired on the ZorthoTron 420 that showed Commissioner Iles in the locker room doorway talking to Angel Williams saying he appreciated him taking the match with Zorthos on such short notice. As he walked down the hall his phone rang. He answered and then rushed out of the building. The camera panned around and there was Zorthos on his phone covering the mouth piece saying "I must have had the wrong number".
The main event was set, or so we thought. Zorthos used his power as IZW owner to change the main event to a Handicap Match and introduced the newest members of Impact, Inc.: IZW Heavyweight Champion Tommy Revell and his valet Marianne Albright. Angel Williams is one of the toughest individuals in wrestling but even the toughest have a hard time when it's 2-on-1. Angel defended himself as best he could. At one point he even looked as if he might pull out the victory. It took a shot to the head with the title belt, a shot with brass knuckles, and a DDT to put away "The Widowmaker".
John Zorthos and Impact, Inc. continues its reign of terror. With the firepower and the power of the pen who can stop them?
Other News & Notes from the IZW show:
The New Age Syndicate continues to be a thorn in the side of Nathan Sensation. On February 2nd, both members of NAS attacked Sensation on his way to the ring. On February 9th, one member (can't tell if it was Scott or Shawn) attacked Sensation following his win over Jack Legacy. What could NAS possibly want with the youngster?
Seth Allen picked up a win over IZW Impact Division Champion Kenny Campbell. After the match, Allen offered a handshake to which "The Vulture" would have no part of. Perhaps Campbell is getting frustrated as champion?
The Mitch Carter-John Zorthos saga continued as Carter was in the front row at the show yet again and Zorthos had him ejected yet again. This time however, Carter was not inside the barricade and did nothing to provoke Zorthos. It was just a matter of Carter being in the wrong place at the wrong time, at least in Johnny Z's eyes.
