NEWS
Mid-States Wrestling announced last week that The Iceman will be inducted into their Hall of Fame at their event in Springfield, MO on November 8th. He will be inducted by Jason Jones, Colton Theron Vaught, and Bennett James. He announced his retirement in late September.

C. M. Punk says his and A. J. Styles’ careers have had some things in common. WWE published a video on Saturday featuring Punk during the company’s recent shows in Australia and Japan. On the final night of the tour, Punk brought out Styles to receive a farewell from the live crowd, as it’s likely his final time wrestling in the country. Punk says in the video: “If this was his last match in Tokyo, we did it right. We had to celebrate A. J. Styles. What he means to me is he’s a guy that started around the same time as I did in a different part of the country. Paid his dues, did things his way. He’s very influential and he’s a guy that you never thought would be in WWE, let alone make it in WWE. We kind of have that in common. He exceeded his expectations just like I did.”

Recent WWE Vault additions include Andre the Giant vs. Randy Savage from the November 26, 1988 edition of “Saturday Night’s Main Event”. Later in the week, they uploaded the entire “Triumph & Tragedy of World Class Championship Wrestling” documentary that WWE produced in 2007.

Recently uploaded to WWE’s YouTube channel was the full Ricky Saints vs. Trick Williams contract signing from this past Tuesday’s NXT.

Killer Kross says WWE told him that his book, which WWE was getting a cut of the profits from, was irrelevant to discussions over how much he was worth: "When you tell that kid that his story doesn't matter and you're taking money from him, and you're telling him that subject is irrelevant to the conversation, there's no deal to be made, there's nothing to agree to. So they said they would rescind their offer in 24 hours. My story, my life story, is not irrelevant."

Kevin Nash recently spoke on Sting on his podcast: “You know, the thing about Stinger, man… he was just solid. I don’t think people really get how good of a dude he was behind the scenes. If there was an extra bed in his room hell, even a couch, you had a spot. Didn’t matter if you were curtain-jerkin’ or closing the show. He never looked at anybody like they were beneath him. A lot of top guys, they travel separate, they got their own little circle. Not Sting. He’d be like, ‘Hey man, you got a place to stay?’ Just genuine, no ego, no attitude. That’s rare in this business. Especially back then. Sting was the kind of guy who didn’t just carry the company, he carried the boys when they needed it. Quietly. Never made a thing of it. That’s the kind of respect you don’t buy , you earn it.”

Ric Flair was a guest on the “Games with Names” podcast with New England Patriots legend Julian Edelman. They looked back at Flair’s 1989 Chi-Town Rumble classic against Ricky Steamboat. Click here to watch the podcast.

Ric Flair was asked why a wrestling union still doesn’t exist today and reflected on how he chose not to support Jesse Ventura’s efforts to start one. He said “They don’t see it like that. How do we not have a union? A multi-billion-dollar company. No union. Nobody wants to do it because they’ll just move on without you. They wanted me and Hogan to do it. Hulk called me and I said, ‘I’m not jumping out there. They’ll just replace me.’ Jesse Ventura drove me crazy. ‘Come on, come on.’ I go, ‘Jesse, so I give up the NWA World Championship, walk out. They’ll just put the belt on (Ted) DiBiase or back to Harley (Race).’ It just wasn’t something I wanted to explore, but I was certainly asked to do it a lot.”

On the “Real Talk with Mike Burke” podcast, Goldberg stated that WWE had ‘some girl’ (Asuka) surpass his undefeated streak on purpose: “Some girl at WWE. They did it on purpose. I have nothing against the girl, by any means, but yeah. I was part of WCW when we were kicking their ass in the Monday Night Wars. I didn’t know what was going on at the time, I was just on one of the sides. Now, one side dissolves and the other one consumes everything, so they can treat everyone and everything the way they want. I think there is always going to be the bird in their ass that I was part of a company where I was the champion in a very short period of time and we were beating them in the ratings.” You can watch the entire podcast by clicking here.
