Wrestling for a Cause continues raising funds for children fighting cancer with anniversary show

Wrestling for a Cause, a professional wrestling organization that puts on shows to raise money for children fighting cancer, is celebrating their 14th year with an anniversary show on Saturday night.
The organization's founder, Tim Rockwell, started Wrestling for a Cause in 2011 for a kid battling cancer and saw an opportunity to keep supporting families in his hometown.
"I was online and saw a little boy who was fighting brain cancer and a family was looking for a way to raise funds," said Rockwell. "This was before GoFundMe and stuff, so there was nothing out there to help. I was like, let's do a pro wrestling event."
After the first show raised $1,800, more families contacted Rockwell and the idea was born.
"Then it became, hey, what if we started a wrestling promotion?"
Cappuccino Jones, the WWE's first independent development champion, returned home to help contribute to this show.
"It means a lot to not only myself, but to everybody in the back because this, you know of course this is our dream and we're entertaining the people, but the cause is bigger than all of us."
Wrangler Rhett, a Wagoner native, echoed Jones' sentiment.
"You got families that are fighting beyond the childhood cancer and it's a nightmare for us to really think about and these families are truly living it. Just to be able to have that money coming into these shows and for that money to help those families in that time of need, we all have gone through stuff in our lives. There's no amount of words to really put into it how much it means to those families."
This event also meant a lot for the fans too.
"This is my wrestling family," shared Laurie Burt, also known as Granny Hulkster.
WFC puts on shows monthly.
Their November 1st show is benefitting a little girl battling cancer and all proceeds will be going to her family.
