Gail Kim posts statement on TNA firing: ‘This is not the end of Gail Kim in the wrestling world’

Gail Kim is grateful for all of the love and support she’s received after her firing from TNA Wrestling.
News broke earlier this week that Kim, one of the best wrestlers in TNA history, had been let go from her role in talent relations. The move was made as part of a larger behind-the-scenes shakeup that saw multiple executives depart TNA and its parent company Anthem Sports & Entertainment.
In a statement posted to Instagram today, Kim thanked the fans and her peers within the industry for the support they’ve shown since her firing. She is going to take some time for herself and to prepare for what’s next, but Kim promised that this isn’t the end for her in wrestling.
“Just wanted to say thank you to the fans, friends and especially my peers for all the support you have given me over the last few days. I’ve received such an enormous amount of love and it really has helped process this change for me,” Kim wrote. “More than anything I am grateful for all the years and opportunities I was given to help build something I always dreamed of. The [Knockouts] division is and will always be my heart and all the women who were a part of it. Thanks to the incredibly hard working and passionate TNA talent & crew that I have had the pleasure of working with. This will not end my passion or my love for wrestling and this is not the end of Gail Kim in the wrestling world. You don’t put in 17 years in one company and stop when you are this passionate. I look forward to sharing my journey and am taking some time for myself and prepare for what’s ahead. Looking forward to the future”
Kim’s next move remains to be seen, but Jim Ross said on his Grilling JR podcast that he would fully endorse the idea of AEW hiring her if Tony Khan were considering it.
“I would endorse that. If Tony Khan asked me my thoughts on the matter, I would suggest – go for it,” Ross said. “She’s very, very valuable and does a great job. I have great respect for Gail Kim, and her reputation speaks for itself. She gets results. She’s very good at working with talent. So – I’m a big Gail Kim fan. And she should not be unemployed for long in my world.”
Kim is a member of the TNA Hall of Fame and is a former champion for both TNA and WWE. She is retired as an in-ring competitor but did work a match in 2023 on the 1000th episode of Impact.
