Mind Games between O'Malley & Michaels continues

Mind Games between O'Malley & Michaels continues

Posted: Jan 29th 2008 By: mikeiles

The feud between John O'Malley and Brad Michaels goes deep. Real deep. They have been friends and partners. Now they are bitter enemies. The mind games between the two continues week after week. It has become fever pitch.

Michaels put O'Malley on the injury list a few months back after pile driving him on a steel chair following a match against Jack Dalton. O'Malley even announced his retirement from wrestling following that injury and in the process vacated the IZW Impact Division Title. Michaels won the ensuing tournament to win the vacant title. But a few weeks after winning the title, it disappeared from the IZW locker room. A video was shown of an ominous figure searching through Bad Brad's gym bag. The mind games had begun.

When John O'Malley returned to action he came back saying "The Irish Phenom" was gone and now he was "The Juggernaut". O'Malley tried to get his hands on Michaels at every turn. Michaels lost the Impact Title to Kenny Campbell and John O'Malley had a hand in that as well.

O'Malley was scheduled to face Michaels on January 19th, but a video aired that showed Michaels browsing the Oklafan.com website saying that he was not in the building. He replaced himself in the match with IZW Heavyweight Champion Tommy Revell. It was all a ruse as Michaels interfered in the match and attacked O'Malley to give him the win by DQ. Michaels showed he can play head games as well.

On January 26th, Michaels begged IZW Commissioner Mike Iles for a match with O'Malley. Iles was happy to oblige. When it came time for the match, Michaels was announced first and then Jesse Storm introduced O'Malley. Instead of O'Malley coming through the curtain, we got another video. It was O'Malley saying that he too can play mind games. He said he wasn't going to wrestle Michaels but he found a suitable replacement. He said he searched and found someone that was a former partner of Bad Brad's, and like everyone else in Brad's life, he got screwed over as well. He introduced Sensational Seth Allen, who was making his first appearance in an Oklahoma ring since May 20, 2006 when IZW was still running in Lawton. Allen showed very little ring rust and Michaels was obviously not ready for someone like Allen. Michaels got frustrated and used a chair to lose by DQ.

When will the mind games end?

Other News & Notes from the IZW show:
The New Age Syndicate attacked Nathan Sensation right before his scheduled match with Brian Grimm and called out any team in IZW. The challenge was answered by Dane Griffin & Montego Seeka who picked up the win. The tag team division is getting interesting in IZW and with Bernie Donderwitz on the shelf with an injury, how much longer will John Zorthos be able to hold on to the straps with replacement partners?

Kenny Campbell successfully defended the Impact Division Title against Se7en. The fans seemed to be torn as to which one to cheer. It will be interesting to see which way the fans will sway.

To start the show, John Zorthos and Brad Michaels were complaining in the ring, as per the usual. Zorthos was especially upset and showed a video as to why. When he arrived at his house, every photograph in his house had a picture of Mitch Carter's face on it. Every picture in the house! Johnny Z's kids, his wife, his sister-in-law. All of them. He then called out IZW Commissioner Mike Iles and demanded that he do something about the "alleged breaking and entering" because Iles and Carter are friends. Iles admitted that he and Carter are friends and said that the first week Mitch was at the IZW show, he was there as Mike's guest. Iles also said that he runs the show from the ring announcer's intro to the final bell but he has no control over what happens outside of the arena. Iles said that he guarateed that Mitch was not in attendance but there was someone that wanted a piece of Johnny Z and he was going to give him the match. That someone was Angel Williams. After Johnny Z hemmed and hawed and complained saying he already faced him, Michaels whispered something in Johnny's ear. Zorthos accepted the match but wanted it a No DQ. This brought laughter to the commissioner and he fell to the mat laughing. But he granted it. The match went all around the building but ended when Brad Michaels interfered and then handcuffed Williams. After 2 DDTs from Zorthos on a steel chair, he picked up the win. This one is far from over as well.

IZW returns to The Impact Arena at 5325 SW Penn in OKC each and every Saturday night.
Admission is just $5.
