NEWS
There are reports that AEW’s Rebel had been sighted backstage at NXT. She hasn’t appeared on AEW television for quite a while after being a part of Britt Baker’s entourage.

Three top TNA executives were at NXT’s “Battleground” premium live event in Las Vegas, NV where TNA Knockouts champion Jordynne Grace got a shot at the NXT Women’s title against Roxanne Perez. Producer and former WWE talent herself Gail Kim, Anthem’s Senior Vice President of Content Ariel Shnerner, and TNA President Anthony Cicione were all in attendance for the show. The WWE/TNA relationship looks like it is expanding and there are rumors that NXT talent will be part of the upcoming TNA television tapings as the two brands seek an alternate way to engage more viewers through a rare partnership.

Cultaholic spoke to TNA’s Leon Slater, who mentioned names like Je’Von Evans, A. J. Styles, and Trick Williams as potential future opponents. “The one I’ve been seeing on socials a lot is me and Je’Von Evans,” he said. “I think even before Je’Von got signed we were being compared as kind of like two parallels on other sides of the pond. We’re both young, we both carry ourselves with this confidence, this kind of attitude. So I think me and Je’Von would be a very interesting matchup. Other than him, obviously the main man Trick Williams is someone I would like to mix it up with. As far as the main roster goes, I have to say A. J. Styles, man, especially being on this side representing TNA now. I’d be super, super interested to mix it up with A. J., who really put TNA on the map.”

A somewhat of a mini AEW reunion took place at NXT on Tuesday night when WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes met three of his former AEW colleagues in a backstage segment. Rhodes ran into Shawn Spears first, who said that he's going to do like Cody did at the Royal Rumble and win next week's battle royal to become the number one contender for the NXT title. Enter newcomer Ethan Page, who told Spears to put the brakes on as he is in the match too. "You don't wanna wish me good luck, Cody?" Page said. Before Cody could utter a word, Lexis King joined the party and said that the king is going to win the battle royal. "Seems like...you guys are in a good place," Cody told them before walking away.

NBA broadcaster Mike Breen spoke to Sports Illustrated about the respect he has for Jim Ross: “Everyone in this profession should know Jim Ross. He’s an icon. I’m always listening to different broadcasters, whether it’s in baseball, football, hockey, tennis, or wrestling. Right away you can feel how much passion he brings to his calls. When you hear Jim Ross, you can instantly tell how much he loves what he does.”

Walker Stewart recently announced on social media that he will be the voice of English commentary for Middle Kingdom Wrestling, based in China.

Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope of the Insane Clown Posse are going to relaunch Juggalo Championship Wrestling with live shows on a bi-weekly basis. They didn’t list a start date for the shows but the main names involved listed were Matt Cross, James Storm, Willie Mack, The Brothers of Funstruction (Yabo the Clown & Ruffo the Clown), The Southern Six (Silas Mason, Alex Taylor, & Kerry Morton), Colt Cabana, Mad Man Pondo, Kongo Kong, and Caleb Konley.

Shane Douglas was awarded the Malcolm Monroe, Sr. Lifetime achievement award at the Xtreme Intense Championship Wrestling event in Lincoln Park, MI on June 8th.

On Monday, Ric Flair posted on social media that Jim Herd, Vince Russo, and Eric Bischoff were the ones that were to blame for WCW’s demise. On his podcast, Flair referred to Herd, Russo, and Bischoff as the "three-headed monster”. Bischoff addressed the criticism saying that while Flair feels strongly about his opinions, it doesn't mean he's right. "It’s just his opinion. It would be like me saying well, wait...I’ve produced over 5000 hours of prime-time television, I should be able to wrestle a 20-minute match, I should be able to critique Ric Flair’s matches”. On Wednesday morning, Flair issued an apology on social media and retracted his comments. Flair said he wanted to apologize to all three for unfairly judging them without knowing the inner workings and behind-the-scenes of the business on the corporate-end. His posted apology said “A Very Important Person In My Life Reminded Me Yesterday That Twitter Is The Weakest Form Of Communication. I Want To Take This Opportunity To Apologize To Jim Herd, Eric Bischoff, And Vince Russo Because I Really Don’t Know. I Unfairly Judged You Without Knowing The Inner Workings And Behind The Scenes Of The Business On The Corporate End With People You Had To Report To And Work With. I Wish On A Personal Note That All 3 Of Us Could Have Worked Together And Had Better Relationships! For Vince Calling Me The GOAT, I Appreciate That & You Did Help My Son To Pursue His Dream In Wrestling. I Am Going To Do Eric Bischoff’s Podcast, But It Won’t Be To Bury Anybody. It’s To Discuss Our Differences! The Rock Is Making A Movie On My Life, And I’m In A Great Place! I Hope This Can All Be Put Behind Us!”. A post later in the day on Wednesday said “I’m Happy To See The Response To My Tweet. I Just Spoke To Eric Bischoff Personally And He’s At Peace, Vince Russo Is At Peace, And Hopefully So Is Jim Herd. I Won’t Be Appearing On Eric’s Podcast Tomorrow As A Result Of Our Conversation, But I Wish Him The Best Of Luck & I’m Sure He’ll Knock It Out Of The Park!” Flair later said "I am going to do Eric Bischoff’s podcast, but it won’t be to bury anybody. It’s to discuss our differences!"

John Powell of SLAM! Wrestling wrote a story entitled “Ric Flair blames this trio for the death of WCW”, which you can read by clicking here. SLAM! Wrestling later posted a story entitled “Ric Flair apologizes for ‘Death of WCW’ comments”, which you can read by clicking here.
