NEWS
All Elite Wrestling is donating the full money received from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre sponsorship from last week's “Dynamite” to the Maui Food Bank. The company received a six-figure sum over $100,000 according to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer for sponsoring the death match between Jeff Hardy and Jeff Jarrett. The match featured an appearance from Leatherface, one of the characters in the video that just came out recently. In a post on Twitter, AEW President Tony Khan thanked Warner Bros. Discovery and the whole AEW team for helping in redoing the whole creative for the show, adding that 100% of the funds from the sponsor were going to charity. The match was widely panned on social media and brought back memories of the zombie match which WWE did back in 2021 as a sponsor for Damian Priest vs The Miz at “Backlash”. "Zombies...ZOMBIES? Wow that just set wrestling back 30 years," tweeted Chris Jericho at the time.

Jim Ross posted a new picture of his leg wound and gave an update on how it’s healing: “The healing process continues albeit slowly. Appreciate all the positive thoughts.”

Before losing to A. J. Styles on “SmackDown”, Karrion Kross teased that he could be starting a new faction. He said “Some people lack the depth to see the vision. My plan has always been to destroy the plan. But now it’s time to take things to another level. As fate would have it, A. J. Styles has shown me the importance of brotherhood. And after all, a prophet is absolutely nothing without his disciples. Soon, you’ll see.”

Matches added to WWE’s YouTube page on Tuesday include A. J. Styles vs. Bobby Lashley from the August 15, 2022 edition of “RAW”.

While advertising an autograph signing by Rikishi that’s taking place on August 26th, “NinjaXchange Collectible Expo” wrote that fans could “come meet Rikishi before he referees at Payback.” The advertisement has since been changed to remove that. Rikishi wrote that it was a mistake by the promoter of the autograph signing.

NWA star Samantha Starr recently joined [url-http://www.PWMania.com]PWMania.com[/url] for an exclusive in-depth interview. During the discussion, Starr opened up about wanting NWA gold, being a third-generation pro wrestler, and more. She said “I’m a third-generation professional wrestler on both sides of my family. My mom is ‘The Perfect 10’ Baby Doll, and my dad is Sam Houston. My uncle is WWE Hall of Famer Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, my aunt is WWF Women’s World Champion Rockin’ Robin, and three out of four of my grandparents also wrestled. Grizzly Smith who was one of The Wild Kentuckians, Nick ‘Wildman’ Roberts who wasn’t only a wrestler, but also a promoter in Texas, and one of the first female wrestlers Lorraine Johnson is my grandmother. If that’s not enough, my mom got married to my stepdad (Chad Byrd) who is a wrestler, and my husband (Dustin Bozworth) is a wrestler. We are a family full of wrestlers.”

A&E has uploaded the entire Biography episode on “Rowdy” Roddy Piper to YouTube.
