Ray Martinez: "Oklahoma Is The Most Vile Racist State In This Country"
Posted: Dec 6th 2007 By: CMBurnham
Ray Martinez announced his presence at the Oklahoma Stampede and in the short time that he's been in ComPro, he has brought his racist message loud and clear, insisting that Oklahoma is intolerant to the Latino race and promising to recruit any and all Latino wrestlers to his cause.
Martinez began his career as the ring announcer and commissioner for TPW, a useful position due to his ability to speak Spanish. But after a couple of years as the man in charge, Martinez left TPW and the once mild-mannered ring announcer went to SRPW. At first, it appeared that he would continue to be the Ray that everyone knew, but that all changed when it was revealed that Ray was the brains behind the invasion of the P.I.N.K. Nation. Leading that faction, Martinez eventually shut down SRPW. After taking some time off in Cancun, Martinez moved on to Oklahoma City, where he led the P.I.N.K. Nation to AACW, then to SWCW. But after losing a feud to Trailer Park Trash, P.I.N.K. Nation split up and Martinez was recruited by Corporate America. That short lived association didn't produce much, as Corporate America was quickly phased out of SWCW and Martinez looked outside wrestling for his entertainment.
Martinez's appearance in the Oklahoma Stampede was a complete surprise to everyone, but he entered and quickly made his intentions known. Calling FCW Tag Team Champion Romero Contreras "whitewashed", he turned newcomer Jesus Rodriguez against Romero and double teamed the Franchise, although this was an unsuccessful tactic and he & Rodriguez were quickly eliminated.
Saturday, Martinez accompanied Rodriguez for his match against Tim Rockwell. Before the match, Martinez made his opinions about Oklahoma and the recently proposed HB 1804 known, causing further inflamation between himself and the crowd. And he put the Spanish-English dictionary he brought with him to good use, hitting Rockwell in the head to allow Rodriguez to pick up the victory.
Martinez's next move might have endeared him to the crowd, if not for the aftermath. Martinez & Rodriguez, who had earlier proclaimed themselves "La M", came out to observe the match between El Super Colibri and Shane Morbid to determine the # 1 contender to the ComPro Oklahoma X Division Title. With the referee distracted, Martinez again used the dictionary on Morbid, to the cheers of the crowd, allowing Colibri to get the win and the title shot at the next Night of Champions. But after the match, Martinez & Rodriguez attempted to recruit Colibri into La M and when Colibri refused, they beat him up, promising him that he would become a member of La M, whether he wanted to or not.
With his intentions known, the question now hangs over ComPro as to whether Martinez or Rodriguez will have any effect the Oklahoma X Division Title match. And if they do covince Colibri to join them, who will they target next? No matter who they try to bring into the group, ComPro may not be listo for the effects.
