NEWS
PWInsider.comreports that Marshall Von Erich & Ross Von Erich are now free agents, as their contracts with Major League Wrestling have expired. As a result, they are “free and clear of all contractual obligations.” It was previously believed that the duo’s deals were set to expire in June. Marshall and Ross signed multi-year deals in 2019, and they defeated The Dynasty (Richard Holliday & M. J. F.) at "MLW Saturday Night SuperFight 2019" to win the MLW World Tag Team Championship. The Von Erichs last wrestled for MLW in May 2022. They did at "Ric Flair’s Last Match" on July 31, 2022. Marshall recently announced that he and Ross are moving back to Texas. They had been living in Hawaii.

In an interview with Bill Apter for Sportskeeda at the 80’s Wrestling Con, WWE Hall of Famer Bob Orton, Jr. revealed some not-so-good news about his son Randy. When Apter asked Orton what’s the status of Randy, he said that doctors have advised him not to return to the ring but nonetheless, Orton is training. “He’s training, so we’ll see what happens,” Orton said. “I don’t know if he feels like going back. If he feels ready to go back, I think he might.” He then continued, “Then again, he’s pretty well taken care of. I don’t think he needs to and I think the doctors have told him not to.” Orton then said that “Randy’s gonna do what Randy wants to do,” and left it at that. Randy underwent back fusion surgery in late November of last year and has been out of action since May, with his last match being with Riddle against The Usos (Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso) in a Tag Team Title Unification Match. Randy has not appeared on WWE television since that time.

A. J. Styles, Zelina Vega, The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins), L. A. Knight, and Rick Boogs appeared on "The SmackDown LowDown" on February 12th.

WWE’s YouTube channel has uploaded Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix vs. Melina from "Judgment Day 2008" and Goldberg vs. Perry Saturn from "WCW Slamboree 1998".

A number of AEW-related trademarks were filed on May 11th. AEW trademarked the term “Double Jeopardy”, Jay Lethal trademarked the term “Black Machismo”, and Ricky Starks filed a trademark for his name.

Jim Ross is a true veteran in the pro wrestling world, as he made a name for himself as a commentator in WWE, and now with AEW. He has delivered some of the most iconic moments in the history of pro wrestling. Now it appears Ross recalled the time wrestling promoter Leroy McGuirk almost murdered Ted DiBiase for dating his daughter. While speaking on his "Grilling JR" podcast, Jim Ross recounted a shocking incident from the mid-1970s involving former NWA member and wrestling promoter, Leroy McGuirk. According to Ross, McGuirk made it clear he wanted to murder Ted DiBiase for dating his daughter. As they drove from Oklahoma to Shreveport for a Mid-South Wrestling TV taping, Ross noticed that McGuirk was carrying a large handgun in his leather satchel. He asked McGuirk about the gun and was shocked by the response he got. McGuirk told Ross that he was going to kill DiBiase in Shreveport. Jim Ross couldn’t believe McGuirk’s plan and immediately called “Cowboy” Bill Watts, who served as the matchmaker for McGuirk’s NWA Tri-State territory. Ross noted that McGuirk intended to take DiBiase to the Alamo Plaza Hotel, check him in, and leave his door slightly open. McGuirk would then wait outside the room and shoot DiBiase when he entered. “It was the biggest handgun I had ever seen. I asked him, ‘Mr. McGuirk, why do we need that gun?’ And he says, ‘Well, I’m gonna kill Ted Dibiase over at Shreveport. I make the phone call and Cowboy starts laughing. I told him, ‘I don’t think it’s f—ing funny. I was going to take him to Alamo Plaza Hotel, check him in, and leave his door cracked,” recounted Ross. “He was going to be sitting at the door, so when the door opened, he was going to blow Dibiase away with his handgun. You know why? Because Dibiase was secretly dating Mike McGuirk and Leroy had a hard and fast rule: ‘My daughter is not going to date any wrestlers.’ Luckily, Cowboy met me at Leroy’s room and took over the reins. By that time, Leroy had already gone through half a pint of whiskey.” It is good to know Ted DiBiase didn’t end up losing his life just because he was dating the promoter’s daughter. The incident serves as a reminder of the dark side of the wrestling world and how dangerous it could be for some people.
