5 Reasons Why Fans Love Karrion Kross (& 5 Reasons Why Fans Dislike Him)

5 Reasons Why Fans Love Karrion Kross (& 5 Reasons Why Fans Dislike Him)

Posted: Mar 23rd 2023 By: Matthew Wilkinson - TheSportster.com

Karrion Kross is one of WWE's more divisive characters at the moment. While there's a lot to love about him, he is lacking in key areas as well.

Karrion Kross is a unique character and someone who has had a range of highs and lows throughout his time in WWE. Whether it was working as a main event star during his NXT run or completely struggling to the point of being released during his initial spell on the main roster, he has certainly gone through a rollercoaster journey.

While the former NXT Champion is now back inside the ring competing for WWE at the highest level, some certain positives and negatives come with his work. There are aspects of him that audiences love, while there are others that people don't as he certainly proves to be a divisive talent.

10. Love: Attention To Detail
Something that wrestling fans always appreciate is when a wrestler evidently cares about the product and their overall presentation. Some wrestlers don't put that level of effort into everything that they do, but that is not a complaint that can be leveled at Karrion Kross.

He puts tons of focus into all the smallest details of his overall presentation from what he does in backstage segments to what happens inside the ring. That is one of the reasons that audiences love him because he wants to be as authentic to his character as possible.

9.Dislike: His Original Main Roster Presentation
Karrion Kross might be getting taken seriously now, but that cannot be said for his previous main roster run, and unfortunately, that is a stigma that has stuck with him. Certain fans can't look past the presentation that Kross has during his first time on Monday Night Raw.

Sometimes when a wrestler is booked so poorly it can be hard for fans to then see them in a different light, and that has been the case with Kross.

8. Love: Connection With Scarlett
A big reason that fans love Karrion Kross is down to the connection he has with Scarlett, which is fantastic to see. That obviously comes from the fact that they're genuinely husband and wife, but it's something that works perfectly on-screen as they both know how to help enhance each other.

There aren't many partnerships like them on WWE's television right now, and that is something that helps to make them stand out on each show. The way they are presented works out as they command attention, and that instantly makes them feel like big stars.

7. Dislike: Lack Of Reactions
A big reason why a lot of fans dislike Karrion Kross is that he doesn't tend to get many major reactions during his matches. Fans find it easier to engage with a talent when they're getting huge responses from an audience because when they see that on television they will then be more inclined to do the same when they go to a show.

However, that hasn't been the case, particularly during his matches. Kross will often get a response during promo segments, but when it comes to the bell-to-bell action he often loses them.

6. Love: A Genuine Heel
In professional wrestling nowadays, there aren't many genuine heels to be found. Lots of wrestlers who are supposed to be playing heels often end up wanting to get cheered and attempt to play themselves up as cool, but that isn't always a positive situation.

It is much easier to tell stories when a wrestler is genuinely being booed, and while that means that fans are supposed to dislike them, it is something that people also appreciate. That is the case with Karrion Kross, as he will always be seen as a genuine heel.

5. Dislike: Hasn't Won Any Major Feuds
While his NXT career saw him enjoy some great moments, when it comes to his main roster run in WWE he hasn't been able to win any major feuds yet. His biggest storyline came against Drew McIntyre, but it was the Scotsman who came out on top overall.

That is something that fans dislike because there are only so many times they are willing to invest in a wrestler at the highest level before giving up on them if they don't end up winning some of their rivalries.

4. Love: A Great Promo
While the main focus on professional wrestlers might be on the overall in-ring product, promos are also a key part of the product and that is something that Karrion Kross excels at. He is a great talker that can engage an audience with ease, allowing fans to be interested in what is going on with him.

If he can get fans interested in his storylines then he is always going to have a place on the card because that is what WWE looks for in its talent. He is clear with his promos, and that gift of the gab helps him work.

3. Dislike: Confusing Teases
When it comes to darker gimmicks there can often be a lot of teases involved, but the problem with that is they can end up becoming confusing. That's something that Bray Wyatt suffers from massively, and it is a problem that Karrion Kross has as well.

Seeing him talk about different things in backstage segments, teasing the idea of what he will do can be intriguing, but it can also lead to confusion when it isn't followed up on. That was clear when he originally debuted teasing the idea of going after Roman Reigns, which never happened.

2. Love: A Unique Character
Darker gimmicks have always been part of professional wrestling, and while there have been some great ones, there have also been some awful characters as well. However, Karrion Kross' is unique as he taps into different elements of mind games with his tarot cards and the hourglass warnings.

It's dark but not over the top or too supernatural, which can turn some fans off. The fact he has a unique gimmick helps make him feel more interesting to the public, and it allows his storylines to be completely different from everyone else.

1. Dislike: Slow In-Ring Pace
A big reason that fans don't enjoy Karrion Kross is due to the in-ring style that he has which is very slow in comparison to how the majority of people work in wrestling nowadays. Kross is very methodical with his wrestling, but that isn't something that typically gets over nowadays.

The general pace of wrestling has increased dramatically, and while Kross brings something different it doesn't tend to get over. He often has fans interested in his storylines, but he tends to lose the crowd during matches, which is down to his in-ring style.
