Report: Goldberg a free agent after WWE contract expires
Posted: Mar 21st 2023 By: Bryan Rose
Goldberg is reportedly a free agent.
Fightful Select reported on Monday that Goldberg’s contract with WWE expired at the end of 2022, with no deal being reached to renew or extend it. Goldberg last wrestled for the WWE at the Elimination Chamber event last February, losing to Roman Reigns in a match that was for the WWE Universal Championship.
After a long period away from the ring, Goldberg made his return to the WWE back in 2016, facing Brock Lesnar at that year’s Survivor Series event. During his latest run with the company, Goldberg won the WWE Universal title twice, once in 2017 by defeating Kevin Owens and a second time in 2020, defeating The Fiend Bray Wyatt.
Other matches he has had over the years since include The Undertaker at WWE Super ShowDown 2019, Drew McIntyre at the 2021 Royal Rumble, and two matches with Bobby Lashley that took place later that year.
