NEWS
Mike Pappas will be given a Lifetime Achievement Award from Mid-States Wrestling tonight at their event in his hometown of Springfield, MO.

Clayton Bloodstone was one of the additional Boys in Dalton Castle’s entourage at Ring of Honor's "Final Battle 2022" pay-per-view event on December 10th in Arlington, TX

Corporal Punishment and Flex Zerba were two of the security members involved in the pull-apart between Jon Moxley and Adam Page on the "AEW Rampage" event on December 14th.

Ring of Honor color-commentator Caprice Coleman recently joined "Busted Open Radio" to discuss a wide range of pro-wrestling topics, most notably the advice he received from Jim Ross about how he can improve his skills at the commentary position. Check out what JR told Coleman in the highlights: On reaching out to Jim Ross for advice: “I actually reached out to JR one time, and he had no clue who I was. It was on Messenger, and I told him I was a commentator and that I want to get better and this, and he sent me a message a couple of days later. He said, ‘Hey, I saw your message. I’m not ignoring you, I’m just very busy,’ and I didn’t expect him to reply at all.” Says Ross gave him great feedback: “Then, he sent me like paragraph after paragraph of things to do to get better. He was like, ‘Broaden your vocabulary, study, know what you’re talking about, know the athletes, know the moves, know this.’ I’m like, you know, if you ask somebody how to get better and they’re the best at it and they tell you and you don’t do it, who’s fault is it?”

Jim Ross spoke on his podcast about the relationship of Jim Cornette with Vince McMahon. To probably very few people’s surprise, Cornette and Vince never really got along. Jim Ross explained how they dealt with each other. This is what Jim Ross said. “Contentious. I don’t know that Corny’s [Jim Cornette] relationship with Vince has ever changed. They never got along great, but I think Corny had respect for the business, therefore Vince got some of that respect as well for what he had built in WWE, creating an environment where a lot of people, like Cornette, myself, and others, could make a living in the things we loved to do, and that was work in pro wrestling.” Jim Ross explains how the philosophy of Jim Cornette as opposed to Vince McMahon may have impacted the relationship. “They never really got along. I think Bruce [Bruce Prichard] will probably sign off on that deal as well. They just didn’t. They had different philosophies, but they had a lot of similarities in some of the fundamental things as far as they both agreed that we can’t get better if we don’t have our talents working with other talents that are better than the rookies and are getting plenty of work.” Most would imagine that Jim Cornette loved his southern style wrestling, and Vince McMahon’s style was not even remotely close to that. Still, they found a way to work together for many years.

During his podcast, Ric Flair was critical of Jim Ross over an appearance on "Dark Side of the Ring" last year. In the documentary, J. R. discussed the infamous “Plane Ride From Hell” and said the following regarding Flair’s alleged inappropriate behavior on the flight: "He’s the life of the party. If you know him, you know where to exit the party and go to your own safe place or you don’t know the rules, and you find yourself in deep water.” J. R. was also asked why Flair wasn’t suspended or punished: “Good question. I guess for lack of a better term, he was a made man. He was such a high level made man that he got a pass. Was it the right thing to do? I don’t know. You’re listening to it, folks, you decide. He got a pass.” J. R. later commented on how he felt he was “misrepresented a time or two” through the editing process. Here is what Flair had to say regarding JR: “Jim Ross lost every bit of credibility with me in life, in spite of calling me the greatest wrestler of all time or whatever in his induction, when he jumped on 'Dark Side of [the Ring]'. Because all he is starving for and leaning on in life is to be relevant because he ain’t. I can forgive Jim Ross for 'Dark Side', which I have because there’s nothing worth it, but I don’t appreciate it. Jerry Lawler texted me, I don’t know how many people said, ‘What the f–k did Ross mean? You got to know when to walk away from Ric Flair?’ Well, the WWE learned when to walk away from Jim Ross. I’m going to the 30th reunion, do you think he is? At the same time, Jim Ross will always be my favorite announcer. I’m not diminishing his skills. I’m not like Eric [Bischoff] saying I was no good at anything. I’m telling you Jim was the f—ing best but I also thought he was one of my best friends. A friend doesn’t do that.”

On the latest "To Be The Man" podcast, Ric Flair gave his candid thoughts on certain people in wrestling, including Vince McMahon, Jim Ross, and Eric Bischoff. Ric was asked why he thinks about Vince McMahon wanting to come back to WWE: "Well, you know, you're not going to get a negative word out of me. I love Vince McMahon. He's entitled to whatever he wants, and I’m telling you, shame on the people that don't think so. He built it. Nobody else built it. Nobody helped him. He fought every war. I mean, you're talking about Eric (Bischoff) again, where Eric, you know, says they were the only competition, or that Eric is called a visionary for 83 weeks. Well, all Eric did, really, was use all of Turner's money, not his own. He bought 83 weeks. He didn't outsmart McMahon. He bought 83 weeks with somebody else's money which eventually bankrupted the company." On Eric Bischoff’s remark that Ric Flair didn’t draw money for WCW and that is why he had to go get Hulk Hogan: “He didn’t get Hulk Hogan. I went and got Hulk Hogan. He didn’t know Hulk Hogan. Why would Hulk Hogan know a piss ant working downstairs in a camera room? I drove to Orlando with them while they met in Hulk’s trailer (on Hulk’s movie set). He didn't go find Hulk Hogan. He didn't find [Randy] Savage. He didn't find [Roddy] Piper. I did and I put them all over for him.” If Bischoff saying that he made Flair and The Horseman didn’t draw money was what reignited their feud: “I've gone back and all I said was he's an arrogant pr*ck, but now I can say he's an arrogant prick with no friends. Now he's pissed off Arn [Anderson] and Tully [Blanchard]."

Jim Duggan hasn't stepped into a ring in nearly four years and hasn't been seen on WWE programming in over a decade, but one person recently had cause to learn that the 68-year-old WWE Hall Of Famer is not one to be trifled with. Duggan told Wrestling Inc. that his home was broken into by an intruder on at around 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, December 8th, and that the individual, a man in his mid-20s, entered through the front door of his South Carolina home. Duggan claimed he took the man down by himself before grabbing his .44 caliber pistol and holding the intruder at gunpoint. Duggan and his wife, Debra, noted that after the man entered, they heard other people yelling in their neighborhood. Duggan, concerned that more people might be headed his way, had his Christmas lights turned off and told the intruder to be quiet. The intruder, who the Duggans described as hysterically frightened, claimed that people from a nearby home were coming after him to kill him, after which Duggan kept his gun on his lap and his hand on the intruder's back until the police arrived. According to Duggan, the intruder was fleeing individuals related to a separate legal matter, leading him to seek refuge. The intruder reportedly pounded on multiple other doors before climbing over the Duggans' fence and entering through their unlocked door. Duggan did not press charges when asked, letting the Kershaw County Sheriff's Department apprehend the intruder. "Thank God we didn't shoot him," Duggan said.
