Bloodstone Stalks Prey At OKC Pop Festival

Bloodstone Stalks Prey At OKC Pop Festival

The hunt is on!

Since reinventing himself as Clayton Bloodstone, the self-professed "big game hunter" and NCWO Choctaw Champion has been seeking his fortunes in areas outside of Oklahoma. But things may be on a path of change after the events that occurred during the last weekend of June. Bloodstone is looking to capture some major prey and hopes to make Oklahoma his hunting ground.

Bloodstone was one of 10 participants in a Battle Royal at the IWW event at the Oklahoma City Pop Con. The winner of the that event would earn a spot on the FTE show the next day and wrestlers from all around the area came out to show they were deserving of that opportunity. Big, small, current and former champions....all of them entered with the intention of proving themselves and hoping to take another big step in their careers. One by one, bodies got tossed over the top rope until there were only four competitors left: Bloodstone, Devion Black, Gideon Vane and Jacob Talos. The fan favourite here appeared to be Black, but the size of Vane and Talos made them the odds on favourites...until their competitive natures led them to being eliminated at the same time and battling each other all the way up the entrance area. That left Bloodstone and Black and both knew exactly what was on the line in this scenario. Both men came close and ended up making their way over the top rope to the ring apron area, where the stakes became even higher. One false step, one slip and it was over. And that was where Bloodstone's relentless stalking paid off for him. He read Black's body language perfectly and was able to capitalise on one error, leaving him the sole survivor.

Getting to the FTE event was not easy, but he then was placed against a man he had competed against during that same Battle Royal: EPW All-American Champion Logan Knight. Logan was very familiar with Bloodstone and their experience levels are not dissimilar, so this match up was very intriguing to both. Bloodstone understood that the best approach was to rely on his hunting skills, to treat Knight as the prey to his hunter. And Knight understood that he needed to gain the upper hand quickly in this match, so he threw his shirt in Bloodstone's face in an effort to throw Bloodstone off his plan. It didn't work and Bloodstone immediately pounced on his prey. Bloodstone beat Knight down and tried to throw him out of the ring, but Knight reversed this and threw Bloodstone into the fans, allowing two of them to chop Bloodstone on the chest. Bloodstone rallied and proceeded to bend the rules in a very calculated manner, depriving Knight of a sense by poking his eyes and gaining control by pulling his hair. But Oklahoma City did not want to see Knight lose out in this opportunity and began to show their support vocally and Knight did not disappoint. "The Spotlight" began to throw back elbows and grabbed a boot that Bloodstone tried to put up, giving him a shinbreaker/exploder suplex combination. Sensing tremendous opportunity, Knight went for the Double Tap Moonsault, but missed and Bloodstone countered with a running knee, then a snapdragon suplex followed by another knee strike. Bloodstone tried for a pin at that point, but Knight kicked out at the last millisecond. Bloodstone was irate and began to argue with referee Frank Lynn which let Knight get back to his feet. He tried to spin Bloodstone around to prepare for his finishing move, but Bloodstone countered and secured Knight into the Leopardlock submission hold. Knight fought valiantly, but ultimately had no choice but to tap out.

Two matches, two victories. And the most recent one over an established champion. Bloodstone saw the potential opening and now awaits the opportunity to pounce on his prey once again and propel himself into jungle to continue the hunt!
