AEW's Matt Sydal suffers dislocated knee injury
Posted: Mar 20th 2022 By: Josh Nason
High flyer Matt Sydal hasn't been seen in an AEW ring, or any ring, since mid-February and he revealed the reason why on Saturday: a dislocated knee.
Sydal, who is celebrating his 39th birthday Saturday, said in the tweet that he suffered no tears in either his ACL or PCL. He gave no timetable for his return.
While he didn't specify whether the injury was suffered in a match or otherwise, his last in-ring action was in a nine-minute indie match in Poland on February 19th. Since debuting in AEW at All Out in September 2020, Sydal has primarily wrestled for AEW with only a handful of indie bouts.
In recent months, Sydal has been teaming with young prospects like Lee Moriarty and Dante Martin in either tag team matches or trios action.
Sydal's brother, Mike, has also been on the sidelines since last October when he was pulled from a tag team match on Rampage due to an undisclosed injury. He hasn't wrestled anywhere since and it's unknown if he remains under any kind of contract.
