Braun Strowman & EC3 Are Launching Their Own Wrestling Promotion
Posted: Feb 18th 2022 By: Alex Hoegler - TheSportster.com
Former WWE superstars Braun Strowman (real name Adam Scherr) and EC3 are launching their own wrestling promotion together.
United Festival Productions sent us a press release on the announcement. A television deal is "imminent", the press release noted. There are already events scheduled for Mar. 5 in Orlando, Florida and Mar. 31 in Dallas, Texas, respectively. Those who are interested can go here for tickets and more information.
Over the past few months, Strowman and EC3 had posted "Control Your Narrative" messages on social media, leading to speculation that the two would start working together. That turned out to be just the case.
"We, collectively as wrestlers, can no longer wait," EC3 said, per the press release. "We can not wait on companies that answer only to shareholders. Companies where billionaires collect talent as 'toys.' Companies that fire their entire roster for the mistakes their office made. Companies that are complacent in presentation. ??To create true change, you have to be bold. You have to bet on yourself. With CYN, talent bet on themselves."
EC3 and Strowman were released from the WWE in 2020 and 2021, respectively, as part of budget cuts. Alongside Westin Blake (Wesley Blake in WWE, also released in 2021), Strowman and EC3 made brief appearances at the Dec. 11 Ring of Honor "Final Battle" pay-per-view.
"I was so impressed with what CYN (Control Your Narrative), was creating that I told ec3 and JC how much it inspired," the former Universal Champion said said, via the press release. How I would like to create with them one day.?? The next day I was released. Things happen for a reason.? This is what’s next."
In early June of last year, Strowman was released from his WWE contract along with Aleister Black, Lana, Murphy, Santana Garrett and Ruby Riott. Black and Riott have since signed with AEW, where they perform as Malakai Black and Ruby Soho, respectively. Murphy is reportedly on the verge of debuting for AEW as well.
There were reports that Strowman was on his way to Impact Wrestling, as he was seen meeting with Impact Wrestling Executive Vice President Scott D'Amore back in October. A deal never materialized, however, and The Monster Among Men has mostly done work on the independent circuit. EC3 made stops in Impact Wrestling (where he worked prior to signing with WWE) and Ring of Honor while also working on the independent circuit.
Congratulations To Strowman & EC3
Many WWE fans had grown frustrated with the way WWE underused both Strowman and EC3. Their releases from WWE turned out to be blessings, as both men are on to better things for themselves. Strowman and EC3 clearly have a direct vision and idea for how to run their own wrestling business, and given their connections in the industry, it shouldn't be hard for them to bring in a plethora of notable wrestlers.
