Jon Jones announces Fury Grappling match against AEW's Jake Hager

UFC star Jon Jones is set for a grappling match against a member of the AEW roster.
On Saturday, Jones announced that he'll be competing against AEW's Jake Hager for FURY Professional Grappling in New Jersey on Thursday, December 9. MMA Junkie also confirmed that the grappling match is in the works.
"Breaking News!! I’m excited to announce I’ll be competing for the number one grappling organization in the world, Fury Grappling! December 9th I’ll be in New Jersey competing against WWE superstar and undefeated Bellator heavyweight Jack swagger," Jones tweeted.
When someone responded pointing out that Hager is no longer in WWE and doesn't use the name Jack Swagger anymore, Jones wrote: "Thanks, yeah I just found out today. Don’t really know much about him yet"
FURY Professional Grappling was launched by MMA promotion Cage Fury Fighting Championships earlier this year. The promotion's grappling and MMA shows air on UFC Fight Pass.
This September, Jones was arrested in Las Vegas and charged with misdemeanor battery domestic violence and injuring or tampering with a vehicle.
Jones' most recent UFC fight was in February 2020.
Hager and his Inner Circle stablemates (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Santana & Ortiz) defeated Men of the Year (Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page) & American Top Team (Junior dos Santos, Andrei Arlovski & Dan Lambert) in a Minneapolis Street Fight at AEW Full Gear last Saturday.
In four fights for Bellator, Hager has three wins and one no contest. He last fought in October 2020, defeating Brandon Calton by split decision.
In a tweet responding to Jon Jones, Jake Hager wrote that the contract for their grappling match hasn't been signed yet: "First of all it’s @AEWonTNT and undefeated @BellatorMMA heavyweight Jake Hager, secondly no terms have been discussed or contract signed. We can talk if terms are right."
