Ric Flair Recalls A Time When Roddy Piper Was Paid In Cocaine For A Match

Roddy Piper was a mainstay in the WWE in the late ’80s and early ’90s. The WWE legend and Hall Of Famer was a larger-than-life personality and that was the reason he was one of the biggest stars of the company at the time. Storys about life on the road and crazy incidents are always being told from both former and present stars of wrestling, but a recent story that has come out is definitely one for the books.

While speaking on his Wooooo Nation Uncensored podcast, Ric Flair recalled a match that he had in 1982 in the Dominican Republic. In the match, he faced local hero Jack Veneno for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

The trip was full of problems for Flair and Flair took Roddy Piper with him when he went back to the Dominican Republic. Flair then claimed that Piper was paid in cocaine.

“They gave me $5000 and they gave Piper cocaine and $500 bucks. He was happy.”

One can only imagine now, that flair is hosting a podcast more crazy tales will be most certainly be let out of the bag.
