WWE Working On Program And Specific Plans To Break Up The Miz And John Morrison

WWE is working towards a John Morrison and The Miz split and there's a team from Raw that could play a role in that eventual break up.

Monday night's episode of Raw hinted that WWE creative is working towards a break-up of long-time friends John Morrison and The Miz. A little friction between the two ended when both got back on the same page. The question will be, how long will this rekindled friendship last and is it genuine?

The hint teased on Raw is that either Morrison is setting up The Miz after he was lied to about the severity of The A-Lister's injury. Either that, or WWE is slow-playing the idea of a split and suggesting that Morrison wants to trust The Miz, but learns over and over again that he simply can't.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez pointed out how New Day's Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston mocking both The Miz and Morrison, which they believe is WWE setting up a match between the two teams for down the road. Meltzer said, “that is the program that they’re going to." He added, "It’s like the beginning of something, yeah."

What will be interesting to see is how WWE creative works the split into the storyline. If New Day is somehow involved, it suggests that Morrison is not necessarily playing The Miz right now, simply because it's unlikely New Day and Morrison would work together on something. The alternative could be that WWE will work this program and throughout the matches, will continue to tease friction between the most moist-see star on the roster and the company's intentionally most annoying heel.

Who better than New Day to drive a team to the point of insanity and test the strength of their "friendship"?

Morrison As A Babyface?

Ultimately, if Morrison does break away from The Miz, it's likely he'll take on the babyface roll and The Miz will remain the heel. It could lead to a strong push for Morrison as a singles competitor, a role he hasn't really played since returning to WWE.
