Ring of Honor is pleased to announce that Bateman has re-signed with the company. Bateman made his ROH debut in September 2019. Shortly thereafter, he joined forces with Vincent in The Righteous, which has become one of the top factions in ROH. The eccentric Bateman, who describes himself as a “handsome sociopath with violent tendencies,” is celebrating his 20th year in pro wrestling. Before coming to ROH, Bateman was one of the biggest stars on the vibrant Southern California independent wrestling scene.
Joey Ryan's libel case against Ring of Honor wrestler Pelle Primeau has been transferred to the Eastern District of Pennsylvania after it was dismissed in California.
Fightful Select is reporting that the Karate Man vs. Ethan Page match that was announced for Impact Wrestling "Hard to Kill" pay-per-view event was taped during the November tapings. Page's contract with the company has expired and has left.
Impact Wrestling announced their year end awards and The North (Ethan Page & Josh Alexander) were named Tag Team of the Year.
The 1st round of the men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will air on "WWE 205 Live".
WWE’s YouTube channel uploaded the The Undertaker vs. Vader from Royal Rumble 1997.
Former WWE Champion Goldberg made a surprise appearance during the Legends Night RAW and challenged WWE Champion Drew McIntyre for a title match at the upcoming "Royal Rumble" pay-per-view. Goldberg’s appearance came at the end of the show after McIntyre successfully defended the WWE Title against Keith Lee. Goldberg’s problem with McIntyre was that the champion thinks he is better than the WWE Legends were in their prime and while in his mind there’s no WWE Legend that poses a threat to him, Goldberg is there to show him that he is a legit threat. McIntyre disrespected Goldberg by saying that wrestling Goldberg now would be like wrestling his father and the Goldberg of today is not the same man of 20 years ago. That did not sit well with Goldberg, who pushed the champ down after a face-to-face. Goldberg’s last dance in the ring was at WrestleMania XXXVI where he was defeated by Braun Strowman for the Universal Title. He has not appeared on TV since, but did show up as part of the virtual crowd a few months ago and on "The Bump" last month he said he has unfinished business with Roman Reigns. Reigns was Goldberg’s original opponent at WrestleMania until Reigns pulled out a week before due to the coronavirus pandemic.
After being confronted and shoved down by Goldberg on RAW, Drew McIntyre tweeted “Hope you enjoyed that @Goldberg, because it’s the only push you’re gonna get”.
While many fans hated the fact that Goldberg is back in the main event title picture, the popularity online and the views that the segment between Goldberg and McIntyre is bringing to WWE somewhat justifies the controversial move. As of today, the clip across YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram amassed over 5 million views in just two days, with 1.9 million views on Facebook, 1.7 million views on YouTube, and 1.6 million views on Instagram. No matter what fans say, the former WCW champion still has pull with viewers and the fact that he manages these kind of numbers explains why WWE keeps bringing him back. Goldberg revealed that he has a contract with WWE until 2023 and has two matches listed per year as part of his deal.,
Word is that Carlito didn’t appear at RAW’s Legend Night because he was never booked on it to begin with. The announcement should never have been made. Also advertised for the show but never appeared were Beth Phoenix, Candice Michelle, Eve Torres, Hillbilly Jim, Ivory, Jacqueline, Kurt Angle, and Michael Hayes.
Brodie Lee’s cause of death remains a question mark to this day and all that we know is that he was suffering from a lung illness. In the latest episode of the "Grilling JR" podcast, AEW commentator Jim Ross discussed what they were told about his condition. “All I know is he had double lung failure,” Ross said, adding that his lungs were in such bad condition that he did not even qualify for a transplant. “As I heard the story…whether it’s totally accurate or not I don’t know, that they took him off his machine to see if he could kick out himself as that’s about the only chance he had,” Ross continued. According to statistics published, life expectancy after a double lung transplant isn’t long, with only about five out of 10 people surviving for at least five years so the future did not look good for him even if he did undergo the procedure. The 41-year-old Huber was being treated at the Jacksonville Mayo Clinic and his wife wrote that his illness baffled even some of the world’s best doctors. It’s not known if there was an autopsy performed on him after he passed away.
A new ownership group has acquired a majority interest in Ohio Valley Wrestling: “OVW is happy to announce that Matt Jones (of Kentucky Sports Radio) and Craig Greenberg (of 21c Hotels) have purchased a majority interest in the company! They and their team will be joining with Al Snow to bring resources to OVW to take it to new heights!”

Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Janice Nesbit, who passed away on December 15th due to COVID-19. She was not a wrestler but began as a fan at ringside with her mother Shirley. Eventually, she would work at the door selling tickets for a few different feds including SWCW.
Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Jack Curtis, Jr., who passed away on January 2nd at the age of 85. At the time of his death, a cause of death was not available. Curtis was a second generation wrestler, and competed primarily in the southern regions of the United States. He had great success as a tag team wrestler and for a time teamed with his father, Jack Curtis, Sr. Jack, Jr. once proclaimed that he and his father were the only father-son tag team in their time frame. After retiring from in-ring competition, Jack, Jr. worked behind the scenes as a promoter for live events that MSW held in Mississippi and also sometimes did ring announcing duties in MSW. He also served for a time on the Mississippi State Athletic Commission. Most of his retirement was spent running a Food Surplus store, where he got the nickname "Captain Jack", due to the sailor's hat that he usually wore. Jack, Jr. has 32 documented matches in Oklahoma. The earliest was as the NWA Southern Champion where he defeated Ray Duran July 25, 1960 at a TSW event in Tulsa. His last recorded Oklahoma match was November 24, 1975, also at a TSW event in Tulsa, where he faced Waldo Von Erich, but no result for that match is known.
