WWE Appears To Have Quietly Retired Mickie James

Mickie James’ WWE status seems to have been quietly changed.

Maybe it was a long time coming. After a strange finish to her last match in September, where it seemed that the finish was botched in a match against Asuka, James is now being listed as a WWE Legend ahead of her appearance on WWE Raw tonight. Dave Meltzer talked about this on Wrestling Observer Radio, talking about how James has quietly been moved to this new category.

“I guess so [they retired Mickie James] because they listed her as one of the Legends and she hasn’t been back. So, yeah that’s what it seems like.”

James has openly said she’s not ready to be referred to as a WWE Legend just yet, and she seems more than ready to remain in active competition. She’s a strong veteran hand that could be a good presence for several of the talents, but it seems like WWE has made their decision. Maybe they’ll address this as well tonight on Raw.
