Are the Luchadore and SOD in Cahoots?

Are the Luchadore and SOD in Cahoots?

Posted: Oct 10th 2007 By: CMBurnham

Speculation has run rampant since ComPro resumed weekly shows back in August as to who the Shadow of Death has been scouting at ringside. He's appeared during several wrestlers' matches, sometimes coming out twice in a card and while this reporter did narrow down a list of suspects 2 weeks ago, it was still anyone's guess as to who he was interested in. That speculation has been reduced now, but answers still aren't completely clear as to why SOD decided to cost Michael York a match this past Saturday.

One thing that does seem obvious now is that the Shadow of Death was scouting the Canadian Luchadore almost from the beginning. For 6 of the past 8 weeks, SOD came out and sat at ringside during the Luchadore's match to observe. However, things went past observation this week. After Michael York and the Canadian Luchadore made their entrances, SOD once again took his normal postition at ringside. York and the Luchadore had an issue to settle from the previous week as Luchadore blamed York for their loss to ComPro Tag Team Champions Sudden Impact. On 2 occassions, SOD slid into the ring, only to be removed by referee Tommy 3 Count. But after 3 Count was accidentaly knocked out by a Stinger splash from York, York hit the T. A. F. and pinned the Luchadore when SOD again entered the ring. He picked York up and delivered a Heart Punch, knocking York out, then put the Luchadore on top for the pin. SOD didn't stick around for the victory, though, leaving the ring area as the referee recovered and made the 3 count.

This was the Luchadore's first victory this year and his first since an FCW show in April 2006. The Luchadore has always functioned better when having someone to guide him, such as former New Canada stablemate Jon Davis, who led the Luchadore to his longest streak, a series of multiple victories over current FCW Tag Team Champion Justin Lee back in 2003.

Many questions still remain after this incident. Primary among those are whether there is truly an association between the Luchadore and SOD at all. Given that SOD did not remain to see his chosen man win, one has to wonder if the Luchadore is the target of this whole situation at all. Perhaps the target is actually Michael York, who SOD has a long standing issue with, dating back to the end of TPW when he briefly managed Rancid against York and lost 3 weeks in a row.
