AJ Styles Confirms AEW Talks

During a recent stream on Twitch, AJ Styles confirmed that he held talks with AEW officials last year.
The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) had appeared on Talk N Shop with Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson, where they revealed they spoke with AJ Styles when Styles’ WWE contract was up in early 2019 about him joining AEW and debuting on the premiere episode of Dynamite alongside Gallows and Anderson. Obviously things didn’t work out as all three Club members ended up staying with WWE at the time.
“Yeah, there were talks, look, it’s a business. My contract in WWE was going to expire and there were talks happening.”
“This is a business, things have been talked about. It’s one of those things. You talk to your friends, the Bucks are my friends. We didn’t talk about money, but there was a conversation because my contract was coming up. It is what it is, it’s business. So, there is some truth to that,”
Styles signed a new deal with WWE in March 2019 and has said it will be the last contract he signs before retirement. He’s also said he wants to be a part of WWE for life and hopes to work as a talent scout once he retires.
