5 Challengers That Can Take The 365 Title...and 5 That Can’t

5 Challengers That Can Take The 365 Title...and 5 That Can’t

With just a matter of days until the BPW 365 Title celebrates its 1 year anniversary of existence, it seems fitting to note a few statistics about it. In that year’s time, there have been 39 different people who have held the title at least once. The title has been defended at events held by BPW, EmpCW, UWE and WFC. It stands as one of the most in demand titles in Oklahoma and as with any title with a 24/7 clause on it, the possessor must be prepared to defend at any time under any circumstance.

The current champion is Warren Powers and this is the 4th time he has held the title. At first look, Powers is not necessarily the type of competitor you would associate with the 365 Championship. Most of them are brawlers or hardcore wrestling aficionados, but Powers has shown a willingness to mix technical wrestling with a great ring savvy (much more than one might expect from someone with only about a year’s worth of total ring experience). So with that in mind, and with a list of all the former champions at hand, let’s take a look at the wrestlers who have held the title that are least likely to regain it and the former champions who perhaps pose the greatest threat to Powers’ reign.

For the purposes of this analysis, only champions who have held the title more than once are being considered.

Least likely to regain the title:

5. Chelsea Stackhouse. The former 5-time Champion has not been seen since the COVID outbreak and that is primary reason why it is unlikely that she will regain the title. But even then, the rules restricting male-female in-ring combat would restrict the opportunities she had to regain the title.

4. Naomi Sanders. Certainly a more vicious competitor than Chelsea, Sanders also seems to have left pro wrestling after her split with Karnage. She still holds the record for the longest single reign of any former champion.

3. Marvin T. Puppet. Yes, it’s true. He’s a former 2-time champion. And he’s a puppet. The mind boggles to realise this. But Mr. Puppet has been much more focused on becoming the Director of Operations for WFC when last seen and is very excited about WFC’s return this Saturday.

2. Ray Martinez. Former 2-time Champion as well as a competitor with knowledge of martial arts as well as wrestling. It’s actually rather surprising that both of his title reigns were so short. Martinez is another one that has not been seen since the COVID outbreak.

1. Shawn Sanders. This one barely makes this list, which probably seems strange since he is listed as #1. But that means that he just fell short of the list of people LIKELY to regain. Sanders, the current ASP Mid-American Champion, is certainly active and captured the title once in Oklahoma City and once in Bristow. He is vicious, ruthless and can get hardcore if needed. So why does he end up on this list? Simply put, in recent times, Sanders has not been one to travel outside the ASP area much. If the title comes to him, then there certainly is a possibility of him regaining it. But he seems unmotivated to go and chase it, preferring to focus on regaining the ASP Tag Team Titles with his brother Scott.

Most Likely To Regain The Title:

5. El Greengo Loco. Having recently made his in-ring return after almost a year’s time away from wrestling, El Greengo has already captured the title twice. But both times were almost flukes. And let’s face it, El Greengo seems much more happy to just get in the ring and dance than actually compete. Not to say he won’t though. For a guy dressed almost like a superhero, this title seems perfect for him to fight off evil-doer for. And it gives him focus, which is something Greengo seriously needs in his career.

4. Giganto. Many people would say that Giganto has been the face of the 365 Title in recent months. And they would be right. The man-beast proudly carried the 365 legacy for several months, considering his title defenses “Sacrifices” of victims. But Giganto is another one that seems to have gone into hiding due to COVID. After losing the title to Powers, Giganto has not been seen at any events. Is he injured? Is he sick? Or is he just stalking his prey?

3. Elijah Sparks. El Greengo Loco was compared to a super-hero earlier and fans may think that Elijah Sparks fits that description even better. But what about the Super VILLAIN aspect of Sparks? The man who takes out the trash of companies? That trash can fits in really well with the 365 Style. And there are no friends in the 365 world, so his friendship with El Greengo may be holding him back in pursuing that title. Whether hero or villain, this former 5-time champion wants to make sparks fly with that title as much as possible.

2. Sam Stackhouse. The WFC Champion is certainly a jovial type and seems on the verge of capturing the BPW Oklahoma Tag Team Titles with Mike Starr. But those who have been around for all of Stackhouse’s career know that in the early days, he competed in some of the most brutal matches devised. Matches with kendo sticks and thumbtacks. Matches where he was lucky to escape without needing stitches. Matches that may have cost him his gall bladder. Sam knows how to get vicious and how to always be ready for a fight.

1. Karnage. Let’s face it. 15 times this man has held this belt. It’s like it was created for him. In FACT, after his dispute with BPW management, when he claimed to won the title from Sam Stackhouse, he made his own replica of the title to prove his point of being the rightful champion. More than any other competitor, Karnage is associated with this title. He goes where it goes and he is always wanting it to be in his possession. He will sacrifice health, mind and well-being to make sure that he gets that title back. And he doesn’t care who he has to go through to get it. Family means nothing. Friends are almost non-existent.

So, with that in mind, the field seems wide open for Warren Powers at Sparta on Friday, July 24th,. Will it be someone from these lists who challenges him? Will it be someone else? Another former champion? A brand new face to the division? Whatever the case, Powers knows that you always have to be on your toes to keep the belt. And your most important defense is not your last one, it’s the one you don’t know is coming.
