Joey Ryan stripped of KWR Title and removed from future events
Posted: Jun 22nd 2020 By: Kansas Wrestling Revolution
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
Joey Ryan has been stripped of the KWR Heavyweight Championship and has been removed from all future events with Kansas Wrestling Revolution.
Wrestling should be a safe and fun environment not only for fans but for talent and crew alike. We do not condone nor tolerate any kind of misbehavior. The individual actions of Joey Ryan do not reflect the character and morality of Kansas Wrestling Revolution. Since day one in KWR, we have been committed to making our locker room a positive, fun, and safe working environment for our talent, and employees. We will continue to do so in the future.
In a time like this, when you think you know someone and the level of their character based on the handful of interactions you've had with them, it's easy to want to defend that person and not believe the accusations against them, simply for how they have treated you personally. Now that the facts have been made clear to us, we owe an apology to the people we may have defended Joey Ryan to. We did not know the level of malicious misconduct he was capable of, and clearly we didn't really know him at all. A lot has come to light in just a short 48 hour period. We are sorry and we WILL do better. We firmly believe that EVERYONE within the wrestling business CAN DO BETTER. We have to.
The fate of the KWR Heavyweight Championship will be decided in the Main Event of Mid-West Mania II on October 10th. The Outlaw will go one on one with an opponent to be determined at a later date.
As always we thank everyone for their support and we thank you for your patience during this time as we figured out exactly how to handle this situation. If anyone has any questions regarding the safety of our performers and crew, we encourage you to reach out to us on social media and someone will answer any and all questions to the best of our ability.
