Interview with "The Bronze Bull" Aaron Neil

Interview with "The Bronze Bull" Aaron Neil

Posted: May 2nd 2013 By: mikeiles

Few wrestlers in IZW history have amassed an illustrious career like Aaron Neil. Neil has been with IZW since the beginning, working for the promotion as it grew from a startup regional federation to a juggernaut among the independents with a national and international footprint. Much of the success IZW has attained throughout the years can be directly attributed to the blood, sweat, tears and dedication of Neil who has set the gold standard for the flourishing promotion. Neil is cut from the same rugged cloth as Junk Yard Dog, Ted DiBiase, Magnum T.A., Paul Orndorff, Jake Roberts, Dick Murdoch and several other wrestlers who have built a legacy in the Sooner State and surrounding territories. Neil comes from that same wrestling lineage and, with over a decade of work in the ring, has attracted a large fan base all over the South Central United States.

But no career is without its controversy and pitfalls. Neil grabbed the ire of IZW fans everywhere over the past year with his transformation from the ?Real Deal? to "The Bronze Bull?. As "The Bronze Bull? Neil won another IZW Championship, making it six in total, (the most of any wrestler in history) so although the method was questioned by most fans, the results were not. But after the events of March Mayhem and everything that has transpired since, Neil has had a career renaissance and once again found himself in a familiar position as a fan favorite. But the old saying is true: If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

Neil hasn?t made a clean break from his past. Since walking away from Impact Elite, Neil finds himself in a dog fight against former IZW Champion and multi-time felon, The Convict and Madame Commissioner Erica. With the shocking turn of events over the past couple weeks, I couldn?t wait to get ahold of ?The Bronze Bull? and interview this living legend. Neil was a true professional and illuminating as always. Neil might have thrown more kerosene on his combustible feud with The Convict and Erica heading into Coronation on May 11, but knowing ?The Bronze Bull? like I do, he wouldn?t want it any other way. Raw and uncut, here is my interview with the one and only ?Bronze Bull? Aaron Neil.

DA: You?ve had a challenging last month or so. The brunt of your recent trouble started with your exit of Impact Elite, when you quit at March Mayhem. Did you ever expect things to get so out of hand with your former stable mates?

AN: I?m no dummy. I knew Madame Commissioner Erica wouldn?t take this ?lying down?. She usually takes things from her knees! I realized there would be some backlash. Did I foresee her unleashing her big dumb attack dog, The Convict, on me, and shaving my head? No, but I don?t think she realizes the line she has crossed, or the repercussions of her actions.

DA: It seems Impact Elite, and specifically Erica, has really taken your departure from Impact Elite personal. Why?

AN: I think she is taking this so personally because it is a reflection of her life as a whole. Time and time again she tries to hitch her wagon to the rising star of someone else, and inevitably gets dropped like the trash she is. One would think she might have gotten used to this process by now considering how many times it happens to her, but in her defense, it isn?t easy getting over the ?Bronze Bull?. Once you go ?Bronze? you don?t go back.

DA: What can fans of Aaron Neil expect at Coronation?

AN: ?The Bronze Bull? challenged The Convict to a match, and at Coronation I will go into battle against The Convict. Like anyone else, I look at The Convict and the impressive path of destruction he has been on, but unlike everyone else, ?The Bronze Bull? is not in awe of The Convict. I have battled the biggest and baddest in the business, and I have been to Japan and I can assure you The Convict is NOT Godzilla. After Coronation, The Convict will be nothing but a creepy orange jump-suit full of sore bones that Erica will have to cart around with her in a wheelbarrow.

DA: Will the ?Bronze Bull? rise again or maybe the ?Real Deal?? Or possibly?.a never before seen version of Aaron Neil?

AN: To ?rise again? implies that there was a fall. And I have it on good authority (The Gods) that ?The Bronze Bull? has not fallen. I won?t down play what Erica did to me by shearing the golden mane, but she has NO IDEA the kind of hell that will be unleashed on The Convict because of what she did. The consequences of her actions are more than The Convict can bear.

DA: Being the only six-time IZW Champion in company history is proof that you are one of the best, if not the best wrestler to ever grace an IZW ring. What do you need to do to place yourself in the hunt for title #7?

AN: Apparently, being the owner of the company is the only requirement to be the champion now. Gone are the days when a competitor plied his craft for years in order to perfect it, and after proving his worth eventually earned the right to even have a shot at the championship. And when they received their shot they fought their guts out to be deserving of the title of ?Champion?. I am determined to bring that ethic and prestige back to the IZW Championship. So in typical ?Bronze Bull? style I will EARN a shot at the IZW Championship by doing what ?The Bronze Bull? does best?beat everyone!

DA: You and Johnny Z have had your ups and downs over the years. From being best friends, to your epic steel cage match in 2012. Can you give us some insight into the mind of today?s ?Natural Born Leader??

AN: Unfortunately, I can?t provide any insight into Johnny Z?s mind because his head is wedged so far up his ass that only his colon knows what he is thinking. When Johnny and I first came up with the idea of IZW we wanted to make a wrestling company that was different than every other promotion we saw. We were determined not to make the same mistakes all those other companies were making. Mistakes like an owner of a company declaring himself the champion at the expense of younger more deserving talent. It seems like the last desperate act of a very desperate man. I?ve never been too good at keeping my opinions to myself, and I?m not going to start now, which means our paths will cross sooner rather than later.

DA: Your former apprentice, ?The Brass Bull? Bobby Starr is in the finals of the Impact Player of the Year Tournament, where he will be facing ?Lights Out? Jordan Jacobs in a Ladder Match at Coronation. Do you take any pride in knowing that under your tutelage and guidance, Starr is on the brink of superstardom? How do you see that match playing out?

AN: I take great pride in seeing the progression of ?The Brass Bull?. Bobby is a kid who has overcome great adversity in his life to be where he is. He beat cancer as a child; he overcame a horrible reputation, and fought his way up from a menial position in the company to become one of the top stars in IZW. If anyone deserves good things in their life it?s Bobby, and if anyone needs to be inspired, look to ?The Brass Bull?.

DA: Word Association: Johnny Z

AN: Sad, desperate, little man.

DA: Erica

AN: Conniving, vindictive, harpy.

DA: The Convict

AN: Hired goon, and soon to be ?Bronze Bull?s? bitch!

DA: Double D

AN: Confused Trekkie? talented, but confused. Did I mention talented?

DA: Bobby Starr

AN: Fruit of my loins.

DA: Big Business

AN: The off-spring of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum?s incestuous relationship.

DA: Aaron Neil

AN: Wrestling Demi-God

DA: Any last comments to your fans or enemies?

AN: When the Gods of wrestling decided to make sweet-sweet love to the Gods of all that is Awesome, their passionate union produced a force the likes of which have never been seen. They named this force ?The Bronze Bull?, and those Gods in their infinite wisdom knew they had to share the product of their ?hot God lovin? with the universe. We now find ourselves in the Era of ?The Bronze Bull?, and there is no end in sight. 2013 will be a year like no other, as ?The Bronze Bull? takes IZW and all of our fans to heights never before seen or imagined. Coronation will be a continuation of ?The Bronze Bull?s? dominance. I will step into the ring with The Convict, and remind everyone who the true monster of IZW is. After Coronation, ?The Bronze Bull? will take on all comers from here and afar to prove to everyone that I am everything I say I am, and I will once again rise to the pinnacle of wrestling?because the Gods said so!
