'Preachers' Daughters' Nikita Koloff: The Russian Nightmare throws his weight around
Posted: Mar 22nd 2013 By: CMBurnham
Zap2it: Did you have any compunctions about having your private life on "Preachers Daughters"?
Nikita Koloff: Every decision in life matters. I am a praying man, and I seek the voice of the Lord I serve. If I did not feel the green light from him, if there was any reservation in my spirit or him saying, "I don't want you to do this," I wouldn't. So with that said, I moved forward without reservation or worry or concern.
Zap2it: What was your nickname when you were a professional wrestler, and why?
Nikita Koloff: The Russian Nightmare. I am not from Russia. It was purely character in nature, portraying the villain during the Cold War, Nikki Koloff. I did legally change my name and learned some of the language to project my character to the viewing audience.
Zap2it: Do you remind your daughters' suitors that you were the Russian Nightmare?
Nikita Koloff: The older girls actually, technically, seriously did not date through junior high school or high school. At the time, my daughters were not appreciative of the fact no one would ask them out. It did scare off some guys. There were a couple of proms they did attend, and I would take the young men on the porch and remind them of my former background. You know my history, understand I have not forgotten some of the things I learned from that business. You are taking my daughter out tonight, and I expect you will bring her back in the same position.
