“The Reign Will Never End” – Ricky Wingrave at 300 Days
Posted: Aug 11th 2025 By: Lindsey Steele
It’s been 304 days since Ricky Wingrave shocked the world by defeating Red James on October 12, 2024, to become the Undisputed UWO Champion. Since then, he has weathered injuries, main-event wars, and a steady stream of contenders — all while keeping a firm grip on the company’s top prize.
Now, sitting across from me backstage in Oklahoma City on August 11, 2025, Wingrave looks as confident as ever. The man draped in black leather and gold doesn’t just want to keep the title — he wants to set a standard so high that no one in UWO history can touch it.
Lindsay Steele: Ricky, today marks over 300 days as champion. That’s rare air in the UWO. What’s going through your mind?
Ricky Wingrave:
What’s going through my mind? I’m thinking about how everyone doubted me. They said I couldn’t carry this company, couldn’t survive the schedule, couldn’t handle the pressure. Well… 304 days later, I’m still here, still champion, and still better than every name they’ve thrown at me. My goal now? Not just to keep this title — I want to set a record that will never, ever be broken.
Lindsay Steele: You know the locker room’s full of hungry challengers. KJ Gold, Colton Kinnamon, and Deontae Jordan — who just beat you in that triple threat match with Frankie Lee — all have your number circled. Does that shake your confidence?
Ricky Wingrave:
Not even a little. Deontae got his hand raised, sure — but that wasn’t for my championship, and that’s a big difference. Triple threats are chaos. You can pin one guy without ever beating the champion. If Deontae, KJ, Colton, or anyone else thinks that means they can take this title from me one-on-one, they’re in for the longest night of their career.
Lindsay Steele: You’ve got Red James’ reign in the rearview. You’re closing in on the all-time record. What would breaking that record mean to you?
Ricky Wingrave:
It means the history books get rewritten with my name in bold print. It means that years from now, when people talk about the greatest champions in UWO history, they won’t start with Red James, or Dale Reeves, or anyone else. They’ll start — and end — with Ricky Wingrave. This isn’t just about winning matches. It’s about building a legacy that no one can touch.
Lindsay Steele: Final message for your future challengers?
Ricky Wingrave:
You can line up the entire roster, and I’ll knock them down one by one. I don’t care if it’s Dojo, House Show, or Parade of Champions— I’m walking out with this championship. You’re not just fighting a man; you’re fighting history.
