World Class Revolution Wrestling announced a show in Denton, TX for the first time ever on September 1st. It will have both Kevin Von Erich's sons Ross & Marshall and Kerry's daughter Lacey all appearing.

For the first time ever, two women will be in the commentary booth calling the action for the "Mae Young Classic" tournament. WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix and Renee Young will be joining the voice of WWE Michael Cole to call all the action of this year's "Mae Young Classic" tournament. Apart from Phoenix and Young, the ring announcer will be Kayla Braxton while taking charge of backstage interviews are Cathy Kelley and Shadia Bseiso. Bseiso is the first Arab female to sign a WWE deal and while she is training to be a wrestler, she has worked in television for several years in her home country. The news was revealed by ESPN.com and Michael Cole, interviewed for the article, said that when he was put in charge of all the announcers, his main goal was to have a full-time female commentator on one of the main shows. "That is still my goal today and it led to, for the first time, having two women in the announcing booth for the 'Mae Young Classic'. It blows me away that this is happening because as little as two years ago I would not have seen this happening." A bracketology special on the WWE Network hosted by Mauro Ranallo and Beth Phoenix will air on August 29the at 9pm Eastern (8pm Central) while the tournament will kick off on September 5th immediately following NXT at 9pm Eastern (8pm Central). Episodes will continue to run every Wednesday in the same time slot.

WWE announced that it had added a bunch of Coliseum Video releases to the WWE Network, including ones on Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Ken Patera, The Undertaker, Davey Boy Smith, Bruno Sammartino, Sunny, and more.

During an interview with TMZ, Mick Foley said he told Vince McMahon to keep an eye on the Cris Cyborg vs. Amanda Nunes UFC fight and that he thinks Cyborg will be larger than life and would make a great WWE wrestler down the line. Fan Expo Canada, taking place over Labour Day weekend, has announced that Thursday, August 30 will be WWE Night, with appearances by Triple H, Charlotte Flair, the Miz, and AJ Styles. They will be available for photo ops, autographs, and a panel discussion. The “Ultimate Package” includes front-of-line service. Proceeds of some of the sales will be donated to Connor’s Cure.

There will be a WWE night on August 22nd at Citi Field in Queens, NY at the New York Mets game. Jeff Hardy will throw out the first pitch and Mickie James and Curt Hawkins will both appear for a meet and greet.

Jerry "The King" Lawler returned to the ring for USA Championship Wrestling two days after burying his son Brian. Lawler told ABC affiliate WBBJ Channel 7 Eyewitness News that being in the ring was "almost therapeutic" for him as ever since he got the call about his son, it has been a nightmare. “I think the main thing was, at least for me, it was something that Brian would have been proud of. It was something that Brian would have loved to have been a part of and, in a sense, he was,” Lawler added. Lawler, who sported his son's wrestling vest as a tribute, wrestled former WWE star James Ellsworth on the show. On Twitter, Ellsworth wrote, "Just wrestled the most emotional match of my career. Words can’t describe the amount of respect I have for @JerryLawler.. It’s a true honor and pleasure to share the ring with him always."

A very emotional Jerry Lawler recounted the nightmare he went through last week from the minute he got the call that his son hung himself in a new episode of his podcast "Dinner With The King". Lawler said that losing a family member is tough and he lost his dad when he was just 19 years old, lost his mother seven years ago, his brother three years ago, but never thought he would be losing his son. He mentioned the often-said expression that no parent should ever bury their child and he said unless you experience it, there's no way to wrap your head around it and he never dreamed it in a million years that he would go through it. The deputy sheriff called him on Saturday night while he was in Raleigh, NC to tell him that Brian hung himself in his cell. He said he did not want to believe it at first but then he was told that his son was being airlifted to the Memphis hospital and he still had a pulse. Jerry said his girlfriend called WWE to let them know and their travel department managed to get him a ticket out of Raleigh early in the morning as there were no flights out of the city at that time. Jerry went straight to the hospital after landing. "That's when it really hit me...when I walked into the emergency room and saw Brian there," Lawler said. "I knew the minute I saw him that the only thing that was keeping him alive was the breathing machine." At around 2pm, three teams of doctors and nurses surrounded the family to explain the situation. The neurology team said Brian's brain stem was intact but the rest of his brain was deprived of oxygen for a long time and there was no response or activity. They told them that they've never seen someone come back from such situation and the other two teams of professionals offered no better outcome either. Lawler got very emotional and cried when talking about pulling the plug and said he couldn't do it. Doctors eventually stopped giving Brian blood pressure treatment and it started going down on its own until eventually his heart stopped beating within 20 minutes. "That was it," Lawler said as he cried. He thanked the staff at the hospital for treating him and his family with respect and for giving them all the time with Brian. Jerry also went over the discussion he had with the sheriff who told him this was going to be the best thing for his son as they will get him some help and put him in rehab. "My jail is going to be the best place for Brian for the next few weeks," Lawler recounted the sheriff telling him, adding that the sheriff promised to personally keep an eye on him and that he would be safe. "There's more to this than we can really talk about now," Jerry added as he mentioned other inmates who got in touch with him to tell him that they don't believe that Brian actually committed suicide. Lawler stopped talking about the case due to the ongoing investigation but he also has doubts that his son, who was in solitary confinement, had the tools to actually hang himself.

Jerry “The King” Lawler and his lawyers are shedding more doubt over the story that Jerry's son Brian Christopher committed suicide after photos from the hospital showing bruise marks might tell a different story. Lawler said he talked to his son at 11am on the day he passed away and he sounded perfectly normal, showing no signs of being suicidal. A fight broke out later involving Brian and another inmate when they were playing cards and Brian got hit and later was moved to solitary confinement. Around five hours later, the Lawler family got the call that Brian committed suicide. According to NBC affiliate WMC Action News, the sheriff told Lawler that Brian used shoestrings to hang himself but photos from the hospital are inconsistent with the story. “Just look at his neck and look at his hand,” Jerry said. “You can see the lines on his neck all the way around here to here and what would be the length of your hand as if he was trying to keep the pressure off,” Lawler said. “I think the pictures indicate something other than someone hanging himself with a shoelace,” his attorney added. Lawler continued saying that 20 of the cameras inside the jail are not working so getting the truth will be a bit more harder. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's investigation into Brian’s death is not complete yet and the Lawler family said that they will not stop until the truth is revealed.
