NEWS
Former TNA wrestler Andy Douglas is now known as Dr. Andy Roberts of Nashville Neck & Back. in a recent video, he talks about how he went from being a pro wrestler to a chiropractor. You can see the video by clicking here.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE has ditched the services of Jerry “The King” Lawler and Lita for their kickoff and pre-show panels. Lawler and Lita joined Booker T and Renee Young on most panels but they were absent from the "TLC" pay-per-view. Meltzer adds that the two are now on a Legends deal and are no longer employed full time by WWE. Lita had a backstage role before moving on camera while Lawler was removed from the SmackDown commentary team to join the pre-show panel. Jerry Lawler had been a staple for WWE commentary for over two decades before he was given the booth while Lita returned full-time after she served as a coach on "Tough Enough".

Jerry “The King” Lawler, who recently found himself out of a television job from WWE, said this weekend that he will still be hosting the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony and he intends to sign some kind of new deal with WWE when his current one expires in the beginning of 2017. Lawler, who was talking on Sports 56 WHBQ in Memphis, TN added that it was Kevin Dunn who informed him he was getting axed from the pre-shows due to a cost-cutting measure. The WWE Hall of Famer also said that Vince McMahon called him to reassure him that he will still have a place in the company in some form. Lawler has been working full-time with WWE since 2001 and in his first stint he was there from 1992 to 2001, making him one of the longest-serving employees of the company.

Now that Jerry Lawler is no longer under a full-time WWE deal, he's made a deal to do talk shows in London, England on March 16th at the Leicester Square Theater, in Manchester, England on March 17th at the Dancehouse Theater, in Glasgow, Scotland on March 18th at The Classic Grand, and in Belfast, Ireland on March 19th at The Empire Music Hall.

The WWE World Heavyweight Title match between A. J. Styles and James Ellsworth did not take place last Tuesday night on SmackDown as Styles is suffering from an ankle injury. Styles received medical attention after the "TLC" pay-per-view went off the air and was then helped to the back. He was taken off the card from Monday’s non-televised live event in Tyler, TX and then appeared on SmackDown last Tuesday with a boot over his left leg. He told the crowd that he wasn’t medically cleared to compete, which brought Ellsworth out, and later Ambrose who flattened him with the Dirty Deeds. It’s unclear when he exactly injured his ankle during the match or how long he will be out for. The good thing for Styles is that there’s no other SmackDown pay-per-view until "Royal Rumble", so he has around six weeks to heal up.

A. J. Styles was off the SmackDown weekend shows due to his ankle injury. The main event on those shows was Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt in a Street Fight.

Today, The New Day breaks the record of 478 days as WWE Tag Team Champions, formerly held by Demolition (Ax & Smash). The trio of Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods won the titles from The Prime Time Players (Titus O'Neil & Darren Young) back in June 2015 at "Money In The Bank". To talk about the record, veteran wrestling journalist Bill Apter interviewed the legendary team of Demolition to get their thoughts while at the Keystone State Wrestling Alliance event last weekend. “It is a new day,” Ax told Apter, although he admitted that he doesn’t know much about the current champions. “I understand they are very confident young men and well accepted by the fans,” Ax continued, before Smash interjected saying that they are “pretty good guys too.” Ax jokingly said that back in the day, they didn’t like good guys but they will change their ways a little bit for The New Day. When Apter asked what would happen if Demolition decides to go after The New Day, Ax replied, “Well they better pack a lunch because it’s gonna take a long, long, long time…almost as many days to beat us than it did to beat our record!” You can see the video by clicking here.

PWInsider.com is reporting that former WWE Women’s and Divas champion Mickie James has put pen-to-paper and signed a new WWE deal that was offered to her following her match against Asuka at "NXT Takeover: Toronto". This will be James’ second stint with the company, having previously been employed by WWE between 2003 and 2010. During that time, she won the WWE Women’s Title five times and the WWE Divas Title once. PWInsider adds that James will start in January 2017 and will be part of the SmackDown roster. SmackDown has a weaker roster of women with popular WWE Superstars such as Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Charlotte all on the RAW brand. James made a one-time appearance at "NXT Takeover: Toronto" last month to challenge Asuka for the NXT Women’s Title however was unsuccessful in her quest. The decision to go with James rather than someone already in NXT was due to the fact that none of the women were deemed ready for that level yet, especially in a match against someone like Asuka.

Moonshine Mantell has signed a multi year deal with National Wrasslin' League and will be working NWL St. Louis under the name Maverick.

Regarding stories about Harley Race being in a nursing home, he has been there because Leland Race, who takes care of him at home, was in Japan for the New Japan tag team tournament. Harley is wheelchair bound.

Mick Foley announced Monday that he's down to 236.7 pounds, which is the lightest he's been in probably decades. Congratulations to him. The number is key because when he decided to start losing weight, he was 337 pounds, so this makes 100 pounds plus lost.

An Amarillo TV station did a feature this past weekend on Terry Funk, whose NWA World Title win over Jack Brisco took place 41 years ago. You can see the video by clicking here.
