Hello everyone and thanks for dropping by our site. Bookmark us and please tell a friend that we exist. Excited about tonight's new, The Ross Report podcast that features a 'drive by' with Jeff Hardy and a long form convo with Eric Bischoff plus my thoughts on such topics as the WWE Draft, Mauro Ranallo in WWE, my rendition of Jim Cornette as OKC Thunder GM Sam Presti reacting to Kevin Durant's departure, UFC 200 and much more. Voiced over a litany of 'wild lines' for Fox Sports for their coverage of the Homerun Derby that should be a fun presentation. Lots of satire and attempts at comedy by yours truly. Follow me on Twitter @JRsBBQ for more info. It will air soon I'm told on Fox Sports TV.
The over/under for the Lesnar-Hunt UFC 200 fight is a round and a hlf or 7 minutes and thirty seconds. To take the under one must wager $200 to win $100. This fight is likely going to end violently and suddenly no matter who goes down Saturday night on PPV. I can't wait for Saturday night and UFC's biggest show ever.
Looking forward to seeing the Hardy Boys final confrontation that airs This week on POP TV during the weekly TNA Impact Wrestling broadcast. I've heard a variety of things about the pre taped content band look forward to seeing it for myself. Matt and Jeff will join us in OKC at OklaMania on Sunday July 17 and tickets are on sale now at ticketmaste.com.
The new, Scot Hall DVD is available today for the general public and its a good one. Really enjoyed the documentary aspect of the release. The Bad Guy is a survivor.
RAW/Columbus...enjoyed the rub that John Cena is providing Enzo and Cass. I'm a fan of this tag team and am hopeful that they help provide some additional life into the tag team picture.
Rumor has it that Brock Lesnar will likely face the returning Randy Orton at Summer Slam. Not sure if the rumor is true but if it is I hope Orton is ready for some suplexes on his repaired shoulder that has been problematic for Randy for a good while. Obviously the outcome of the Lesnar-Hunt UFC 200 fight could potentially alter Lesnar's appearance in Brooklyn in August.
Good to see Vickie Guerrero on RAW Monday night but I was hoping to see a bit more of her and her entertaining personality.
My personal memories of a WWE Food Fight aren't glowing (Ruined an expensive hat) . I sat through one of those once for the enjoyment of some in creative I'm assuming. Not sure who 'got over' then or Monday night but apparently it was in the name of entertainment and comedic entertainment in pro wrestling is, to be kind, subjective, at best.
I love comedy when it is well done but it's very hit and miss within the genre of pro wrestling and always has been.
I'm still of the mindset that the WWE Brand Split can potentially be one of the best things that WWE has done in years. It's allows the company to hit the creative reset button and I'm hopeful that both RAW and Smackdown will look and feel different as if WWE had two different ownership groups managing them for WWE.
Entertained by JBL on Monday and his interaction with Byron Saxton is fun with which to listen. @JCLayfield is an intelligent guy who is arguably the best 'heel' broadcaster in the biz. BTW is being a 'heel' broadcaster an outdated reference?
Hearing some good things out of Lucha Underground these days from a creative aspect. Chris DeJoseph does a helluva job in that area for LU.
Anxious to watch the WWE Cruiserweight Open that airs Wednesday night on the WWE Network and listening to Mauro Ranallo and Daniel Bryan broadcast the event. Mauro is a breath of fresh air in the land of wrestling broadcasters. Great hire by WWE but I'm assuming that my Canadian friend is getting weary of being compared to "JR back in the day." Mauro is Mauro and that works for me and his fans plus I'm not dead just yet and still have some fuel in the tank which we attempt to exhibit on Friday nights on AXSTV for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Hopefully a few Cruiserweight talents will make an impact and find a full time home in WWE. It's a smart, strategic move by WWE to focus on these deserving athletes who will all weight under 205 pounds.
For the record, I did not leave WWE because I was unable to broadcast wrestling matches for those who might be wondering. It was time and I embrace my 21 years in WWE. It was the best job within the biz that I ever had and it helped make my career without a shadow of a doubt.
My next boxing broadcast will be on the CBS Sports Network on Saturday night July 23 from Cancun and I will be working with Boxing Hall of Famer Al Bernstein. I hope that you will check us out.
