NEWS
On Saturday, the town of Perry unveiled a statue of wrestling legend Danny Hodge. The event was attended by Jim Ross, Johnny Mantell, and Tommy D, among others.

Fans in Greensville, NC were reportedly very upset when A. J. Styles was pulled from this past weekend?s live event. Styles was pulled from the ring last weekend to rest up and heal as he is dealing with nagging injuries. Styles later tweeted that he is dealing with an ankle issue. Fans at the event were still expecting Styles to work a Triple Threat main event with Sheamus and WWE World Champion Roman Reigns right up until the main event began.

WWE announced details of a tour of Japan in July, and that John Cena will be on the show, as well as returning stars A. J. Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson (formerly The Bullet Club); Shinsuke Nakamura versus Bray Wyatt; and NXT Women?s champion Asuka will face Becky Lynch one night and Natalya on the other.

Ric Flair was off the weekend live events for the second week in a row. It?s interesting that WWE pulled him from last weekend?s shows as they were in Flair Country, North Carolina and South Carolina. Besides working RAW and SmackDown, Flair has been off live events since the Boston airport incident on April 27th.

There was a new episode of "Camp WWE" that aired Monday with Sgt. Slaughter as a key figure leading Survival weekend.

Devon Nicholson was originally invited to the next WWE tryout camp on May 19-21 in Orlando, FL and then last week was sent a letter that said they were uninviting him. No explanation was given. Nicholson was originally in the camp upon recommendation from Gerald Brisco. Nicholson competes mainly in Canada under the name Hannibal and won $2.3 million in a lawsuit against Abdullah the Butcher in 2014 when he alleged Abdullah gave him Hepatitis C in a match in 2007.

There was a New Era Wrestling show on Saturday night in Golden, CO which was supposed to feature The Honky Tonk Man and Greg Valentine, who were both at the Cheyenne, WY Comic Con the night before. The promoters made a last minute deal to bring them in. On the morning of the show, Valentine evidently made the decision not to attend. Honky then cut a promo and said how Valentine begs him for bookings but now after making one, decided he just didn't want to show up. Honky claimed he will never work with Valentine again.

The Associated Press is reporting that a Pennsylvania judge is set to hear testimony on whether ?Superfly? Jimmy Snuka is mentally competent to stand trial in the death of his mistress Nancy Argentino, who died in 1983. Snuka stands charged with third degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. Snuka has already pleaded not guilty. However, his attorney says that the 72 year old Snuka is suffering from dementia and post-concussion syndrome and does not understand the charges or even knows that he was arrested. He also has stomach cancer. The Snuka/Argentino case was re-opened in 2013 by Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin after some excellent work by a couple of journalists working for The Morning Call newspaper who exposed a never-before-seen autopsy report that labeled the death as a homicide.

A psychologist hired by the defense in the Jimmy Snuka trial told the judge that the former wrestler?s brain is ?beyond repair? after being damaged badly during his wrestling career and is getting worse by the month thanks to his dementia. The psychologist, Dr. Frank M. Dattilio, said that Snuka is not fit for trial as he does not understand the legal process and the trial would cause a ?severe erosion of his emotional state.? Judge Kelly L Banach will be hearing expert analysis from the other side as well. The Morning Call newspaper says it is unlikely that the judge will immediately hand down a ruling. The hearing continues at the Lehigh County Courthouse in Allentown, PA. You can see the video of Jimmy Snuka making his way in to the courthouse by clicking here.

Reuters wrote a story entitled "Psychologist argues Snuka incompetent to stand trial" whoch you can read on SLAM! Wrestling by clicking here.

Greg Oliver of SLAM! Wrestling wrote a story entitled "Pepper Martin's book decidedly old-school" which you can read by clicking here.

Alessandro Passalalpi of TheRichest.com wrote a story entitled "15 Former WCW Stars You Won?t Even Recognize" and coming in at #1 was Lex Luger. Others on the list include The Rock-N-Roll Express at #8, and Bob Orton at #7. To read the entire story, click here.

Oklafan congratulates Aaron Neil, who recently surpassed 6 months as IZW Impact Division Champion. He defeated Double D for the title in a 5-Way Scramble Match that also included Nathan Estrada, Rage Logan, and Damon Windsor on November 14, 2015 at IZW's "Halloween Hangover" in Lawton.

Oklafan congratulates Charlie Haas, who recently surpassed one year as NWA Texoma Heavyweight Champion. He defeated Jerome Daniels for the title in an Open Challenge/Anything Goes Match at an event in Sherman, TX.

Mr. Wrestling II was recently hospitalized with an aneurysm on his aorta. He had surgery on Saturday and doctors said the surgery went extremely well. His son Robert sent out a note stating "Thank you everyone so much for your thoughts and prayers. The Dr came out of surgery and explained that everything went extremely well and couldn't have gone any better. Dad is in the ICU recovery for the next few days and should have him up and moving soon. As you may or may not know an aneurysm on the aorta is a ticking time bomb and could rupture any minute, he now has dodged a second bullet with this one, as this is the second one for him. Mom is really watching over him and we are truly blessed. Thanks again to all." Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.
