Happy Holidays to all and thanks for stopping by our site. Tonight at 9 pm ET a new Ross Report Podcast drops at podcastone.com, iTunes and here on the home page of our site. My guest is one of the greatest masked wrestlers ever, Bill Eadie aka The Masked Superstar. Amazing stories, dozens of trips to Japan, working the territories, Andre stories and so much more from a college educated, school teacher turned wrestler. Great wisdom and history from a wonderful ambassador of the pro wrestling business. Join us every week for The Ross Report even easier by subscribing for FREE to our podcast at iTunes and never miss a show and have each new show downloaded to the device of your choice.
Ticket sales for our three, RINGSIDE with Jim Ross and Friends Shows in Dallas at the tremendous, Dallas House of Blues during Wrestlemania weekend are selling well. However, tickets are STILL available starting at $20 at ticketmaster.com. We are doing two shows Saturday April 2 before the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony, 4-6 pm, and after the WWE HOF has concluded at 11 pm at the House of Blues. Then on Monday night April 4, AFTER RAW, we will have our final show at 11 pm CT at the House of Blues which should be a crazy time. I will have a different guest do the Q&A's with me for each show. BTW, the House of Blues is only an eight minute walk from the American Airlines Center, the venue for both HOF & RAW, to the @HOBDallas.
Both www.wweshop.com and www.americansoda.co.uk will both be fully re-stocked with JR's products soon for your online business in North America and in the UK, Ireland and Europe. Bear with us as business has definitely picked up during the holidays of which we are grateful.
Getting great feedback on how efficient www.prowrestlingtees.com/jimross has been bringing the good, customer service to everyone during a wild and crazy holiday season. Remember that we stock up to size 5X and we will ship your JR's merch, including shirts and caps, any where in the world.
RAW Thoughts:
With full disclosure, Monday night I recorded the open and close for tonight's new Ross Report AND recorded conversations with both Lex Luger and the the happily married couple of Maria Kanellis and Mike Bennett for future podcasts. That means I watched RAW on DVR Tuesday morning.
I think that the Slammy concept needs to be tweaked as the multiple presentations made for way too many interruptions during the three hour show which made the broadcast more challenging to watch because it had a had a tough time building momentum. Perhapslessening the number of awards being presented on Raw might be a consideration.
WWE can always also do a separate Slammy's show for the network as well.
Good seeing Seth Rollins back on TV and his presentation was well done. Rollins was also deserving of the Superstar of the Year Award which says a great deal about today's audience that an alleged 'heel' won the award. Times, they are a changing.
Roman Reigns had a positive ight but he doesn't need be speaking as long as we heard last night. He will find his natural voice faster if allowed to ease into the 'main eventer promo land' than simply dumping a long promo in his lap when it clearly isn't his strength. Nonetheless WWE is booking Reigns more strategically lately than just a few weeks ago.
Nice match by Owens vs Ziggler. Owens needs to keep winning and Ziggler could do with a sabbatical to freshen up.
The Wyatt's need to win. Make the group strong for many reasons but also so when they turn on Bray Wyatt that Bray means more as a character baby face.
The fans love New Day's comedy which is why it's highly unlikely that New Day will ever get to a ticket selling level as a heel unit.
Mildly shocked that the live audience soiled the sheets as it relates to watching Ambrose vs. Sheamus in a Steel Cage Match. I felt bad for the talent. It seems like now days that who ever closes a three hour RAW are in a precarious position.
It's challenging for the announcers to have to disseminate so much information during these marathon shows and often times that info regarding trending, etc comes in the bell to bell aspect of the show. That means getting talent over utilizing this premise is challenging and that's being kind.
Next Tuesday, one week from today on Tuesday December 29, my podcast guest will the the ubiquitous Jeremy Borash of Impact Wrestling fame as well as being Chef Robert Irvine's partner in crime on the Chef's road shows. Impact Wrestling moves to Pop-TV on Tuesday January 5.
Q&A's on the have been undated. Thanks to all that send fresh, succinct questions.
Apparently, Minneapolis is no longer in the hunt for the 2017 Wrestlemania as was once rumored. That has yet to be confirmed but that's what I'm hearing.
I hope that you will enjoy our new Ross Report that drops tonight at 9 eastern/6 pacific on podcastone.com, iTunes and here on the homepage of our site. It's a fun show with Bill Eadie, my thoughts on WWE booking, Mauro Ranallo, ROH PPV, TNA's biggest challenge and much more.
Have a great day and enjoy the holidays!
