JR's Blog: Going to see Joe...Walsh Tonight, WWE NXT Unstoppable Will be Talk of the Biz, DC IMPROV show ON SALE Friday, Madden Kills on Ross Report Podcast, WWEShop has JR's in Stock

Posted: May 21st 2015 By: Jim Ross

Excited for tickets to go on sale this Friday morning for our Wednesday August 19 RINGSIDE w/ Jim Ross Show at the Washington D.C. Improv. Tickets become available this Friday morning at 10 ET at dcimprov.com and at the box office. We're doing one show only and tickets will go fast for the famous venue and we will also have a limited number of VIP Meet/Greet/Photo Op tickets, as well. Tickets start at only $25 and we hope to see you there. Tickets for our Saturday August 22 RINGSIDE show in NYC at the Gramercy Theatre are on sale now at ticketmaster.com and are doing extremely well for our show that is the night before WWE's Summer Slam in Brooklyn. Try to join us if you can and I'll do my best to entertain you and to answer your no holds barred questions.

Excited to see Joe tonight as it's been too long. Of course I'm talking about Joe Walsh as the Mrs and I are going to see @EaglesBand in OKC. This is a bucket list concert for us and the music of the Eagles has served as motivation and creativity for many pay per views and major broadcasts that I've done over the years. They are prominent on my iPod.

I will catch the WWE NXT Takeover show on the WWE Network late tonight but I fully expect it to be a stellar show. Not sure of the heath of Sami Zayn as he's set to take on Kevin Owens but if both are 100% this could be the best match in WWE this year on any event. Loved Owens impactful debut on RAW this week and he's ready to continue to get himself noticed with a great performance tonight. I'm a big fan of both talents and only hope that they have long term creative plans in place which is imperative once the newness of their TV personas wear off and it will.

If WWE eventually signs Samoa Joe, a no brainer to me, and he's added to the talents that are already in NXT turning heads, this brand takes another giant step forward. In a perfect world and putting my old creative hat back on, tonight would be a wonderful opportunity to debut Joe on live tV on the WWE Network. That may not be in the cards just yet but one can fantasy book all one wants which is one way that I can fulfill my own personal needs to stay involved in the business that I love in addition to our Ross Report Podcasts and our RINGSIDE w/ Jim Ross Shows. Once the biz is in one's blood, it's hard to simply walk away and stop thinking about it. I don't see that ever happening to me, for better or for worse.

I'm as excited to see the Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch match tonight as any match on the card. All wrestling executives have to realize that some fans are major supporters of women's wrestling and of tag team wrestling and neither presentation should be back burnered. The newly promoted, Assistant Head Coach, Sara Amato aka Sara del Ray is an invaluable asset to the NXT brand whether it's working with the women or the men.

Congrats to one of my former signees Matt Bloom for being named the full time Head Coach at NXT. Class guy, big time athlete from a D1 football program and a wrestling veteran who is a family man and comes from an athletic family as his dad played in the old American Football League with the Boston Patriots back in the day. I nicked named Matt 8 3/8 because that's the size of football helmet that he wore when he played. I'm proud of Matt and feel certain that he will do a superb job.

I'm personally more excited, as a fan, to watch this broadcast than I was to watch WWE Payback this past Sunday of which I gave a B- grade on this week's Ross Report Podcast that is airing now with @MarkMaddenX on Podcast One.

Madden and I cover Payback, who Mark thinks should be announcing Impact, why ROH s seemingly more popular to many fans than TNA, the overall state of women's wrestling in today's marketplace, ideas for WrestleMania Texas in 2016, Tom Brady, the NFL, @Steelers and so much more on the Ross Report which is FREE to download at podcastone.com and iTunes plus it can be heard here on our website on the homepage.

Does TNA's mov to Wednesday nights on the hard to find Destination America spell the death knell for the battling brand? Many industry insiders think so but I certainly hope not. Destination America did TNA no favors by making this move even though airing on Wednesday night is a better night of the week than Fridays. Good luck to my many friends at Impact Wrestling as 2015 is a critical year for their survival.

www.wweshop.com is the place to go for all of our JR's delicious products here at the grilling time of the year. Great packages to fit all budgets and occasions.

Be well and thanks for stopping by our site. Check out the other blogs that have posted this week as well.
