Big week in the podcast world of the Ross Report as another new, show drops Tuesday night at 9 ET with special guest @Samoa Joe. Subscribe for FREE at iTunes which helps us greatly, it costs you zilch and insures that you won't miss a show. Joe is the hottest free agents in the business and this is one of the very best conversations that we've had on the Ross Report and can be downloaded for FREE at podcastone.com, iTunes and will be available on the home page of this website.
Next week our podcast guest on Tuesday night May 12 wil lbe my former broadcast partner and fellow podcaster Taz. The following week "Super Genius" and Pittsburgh radio icon and former WCW broadcaster Mark Madden and I will talk all things pro wrestling including WWE Payback, the NFL and our Steelers and much more. The Madden show airs Tuesday May 19 again at 9 pm ET. @MarkMaddenX is one of our most colorful and entertaining guests.
Talking to Al Snow tonight for a future podcast which should be fun as Al has had a hand in training some of wrestling's biggest and best known stars over the years in addition to having a significant wresting career in the ring himself. We also broadcast some Smoky Mountain Wrestling together back in the day.
Our first ever RINGSIDE w/ Jim Ross Show in Baltimore will be at Rams Head Live on Saturday May 16 which is less than two weeks away and I'm very excited to return to one of my favorite, wrestling cities over the years for this show. Less than 10 VIP Meet/Greet/Photo Op tickets remain but general admission tickets are plentiful starting at only $22.50 in advance at ramsheadlive.com and will be $25 the day of the event at the box office @RamsHeadLive. Seats are limited and we expect to sell out our first Baltimore show and I hope to see you here if you are in the area and can join us. WWE Payback is the next day in Baltimore.
Tickets are also on sale at www.ticketmaster.com for our Saturday August 22 RINGSIDE w/ Jim Ross Show at the Gramercy Theater in New York City the night before Summer Slam in Brooklyn.
July 9-11 make plans on joining some of the biggest names in wrestling at the Lou Thesz/George Tragos Hall of Fame weekend in Waterloo, Iowa. Follow @wrestlingmuseum on Twitter for all the info. It's one of the best wrestling weekends of the year bar none.
All the @Oklahoma_Football players drafted this past weekend are all high character kids with a team first mentality and come with little or no baggage. Some will need developing at their respective positions such as Blake Bell at tight end, he only played TE one season, for the 49ers and Geneo Grissom at DE for the Patriots after spending time as a tight end, and outside linebacker. Jordan Phillips went to Miami as a DT and is still young but amazingly athletic and has a bright future, arguably the brightest future of any Sooner drafted. I'm actually working with a handful of other players about a potential WWE career if their NFL dreams aren't fulfilled. I believe in the late Verne Gagne, Eddie Graham and my mentor Cowboy Bill Watts philosophy that legit, main stream sports athletes have a better chance of becoming great, pro wresters than most body builder types, etc. At the end of the day, however, it all comes down to personalities and aptitude for the genre an willingness to be able to become an entertainer who has discernable athletic gifts and a marketable look. An unrelenting work ethic is also imperative no matter one's background or occupation as is obtaining product knowledge through study, discussion and DVD study.
Anxious to watch @ESPN special on the @WWEPerformCtr that airs at 8 pm ET in E:60. I was interviewed at length in Bristol, Ct about this project months and months ago but now that I'm no longer with WWE I doubt that my comments will make air. Nonetheless, I expect this to be a great feature as it's been in production for well over a year. It's hard to believe that the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, a magnificent facility, was partially the result of our group starting the training centers in OVWrestling.com, Memphis, and with Les Thatcher in Cincy along with working with Rick Bassman in SoCal/UPW all back in the day that resulted in producing some of WWE's biggest stars ever and multiple, future Hall of Famers. What we had was a good start but nothing compares to the Orlando facility.
If you are in the area don't miss the combined ROH/New Japan wrestling events that are in Philly May 12-13 and in Toronto on May 15-16. I'd love to be able to attend them myself. For more info visit www.ROHWrestling.com.
RAW is in Montreal tonight for a special, Pat Patterson Night, that was rescheduled as a result of the last time it was to happen Jerry Lawler suffered a near fatal heart attack while sitting at ringside. Ironically, it was on this date in 1981 that Patterson had his famous Alley Fight vs Sgt Slaughter in Madison Square Garden which was one of the greatest 'brawls' I've ever seen. Congrats to Pat who, along with Ray Stevens, is arguably one of the top five tag teams of all time.
www.wweshop.com has some new packages utilizing our products which are great for grilling or in one's kitchen that I hope you will check out. Some come with personally signed by me, @robschamberger art valued at $20 which is FREE with the packages. These items make great gifts especially with Father's Day approaching.
Thanks for stopping by our site and please tell others about us. I've updated the Q&A's elsewhere her on the site, as well.
Remember to tweet me your pics with JRs tees from www.prowrestlingtees.com/jimross and I will try and re-tweet them.
Have a great day!
