JR's Blog: JR's WrestleMania Thoughts, RINGSIDE Heads to Baltimore, Meltzer on Ross Report Podcast, Jarrett's GFW, NXT, WWEShop Ready to Ship JR's

Excited to be home after several productive and fun days in San Jose. Our next RINGSIDE w/ Jim Ross Show head to Baltimore for one show only on Saturday night May 16 at the Rams Head Live venue and tickets are on sale now at ramsheadlive.com. et yours early as the eating is limited especially the VIP tickets which are generally the first to go.

WrestleMania Thoughts:

Missed the tag title match but heard it was solid. Really like the Kidd/Cesaro combo and feel that with a little creative help that they can help bring more meaning back to the tag team scene in WWE.

I've never been a big fan of Battle Royals including when I was a referee in the 70's and was assigned to them occasionally. Thought the right giant, Big Show, won and it facilitated several talents getting to perform before the huge crowd at Levis Stadium.

The IC Title Ladder match was good but will any Ladder match ever be able to follow what the Dudley's, Edge and Christian, and the Hardy Boys did back in the day when the concept was new and the spots were 'first timers?' Daniel Bryan has a realistic chance to bring relevance back to the IC Title and heretofore the championship that was cold at best but can now headline cards with DB as the Champion.

Loved the finish of the Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins match but was expecting more out of the match for some reason including even thinking that it might steal the show. It certainly wasn't a bad match between the two outstanding talents but it felt rushed but the right guy won especially with Rollins now the new WWE Champion.

Sting vs. HHH was a grand production with a 'cast of thousands' specifically the nWo and DX. So happy that Sting got his WrestleMania Moment which was well deserved. Those that think that the Moment was ruined because Sting lost might not understand the business as well as they think. I don't know if Sting is done with WWE or not but I do hope that he gets a nice retirement sendoff and that he's in the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame class. If the plan is to have a Summer Slam or sooner rematch between the two then HHH winning makes even more sense.

The Divas tag could have used more time but it was solid nonetheless. I see Paige turning on AJ at some point as the two seem to have outstanding chemistry.

Cena winning the US Title against the previously undefeated Rusev should be able to add luster to the United States Championship and it, too, goes from being a cold title to being one that can headline live events. Impressed with Rusev's upside and as he continues to learn heel tendencies and creative ways to cheat to gain unfair advantages he's going to evolve into becoming a major player.

I've been pushing a Ronda Rousey-Stephanie McMahon storyline for weeks on the Ross Report Podcast and I was elated with what went down Sunday between Rousey, Steph, the Rock and HHH. I thought the ladies stole the segment from the men and sill feel that a Rousey vs. Steph match with a stacked deck in Steph's favor will be a giant hit in Texas at WM32 if the trigger can be pulled.

Thought Taker returned to WM in great shape and looking physically better than he has in the past several years. Bray Wyatt being competitive, kicking out of a Tombstone Piledriver was great for the young, 3rd generation talent. Anyone who thinks that Wyatt took a step back because he did not win needs to re-evaluate their opinion. Just saying...Nonetheless Taker appears to still have some gas in the tank and I hope that the is a major part of the Texas WrestleMania which would be a great place for him to hand it up if that's what the Phenom wants to do.

The booking of the ending of the impromptu Triple Threat Match for the WWE world title was brilliant. Lesnar was protected, Reigns showed his toughness and passion to survive the early, Lesnar onslaught, and Rollins cashing in the MITB contract, which was no real surprise but how it was executed was, is a WWE Champion that on any given night can lose the title ala Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels back in their days. Loved the Japanese strong style aspects of the match and enjoyed the finish even more.

Appreciate all those who attended my show Saturday at the Rockbar Theater as over 800 fans joined us including my lovely wife Jan for the fist time, Michelle Beadle and UFC star Daniel Cromier. Loved seeing so many fans wearing our tees from prowrestlingtees.com/jimross. We have sizes up to 5X and ship anywhere.

Congrats to Jeff Jarrett and his crew on the announcement of their upcoming TV tapings this summer in the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. My guess is that Jeff will assemble a great roster of available talent from around the world to present a hard hitting old school based product that many fans will enjoy. If the taping is now for sure going forward, could a TV deal be too far behind?

Absolutely loved the NXT show we attended Friday night at San Jose State University with my wife and Fox Sports VP Jacob Ullman. The atmosphere reminded me of the passion that the ECW brand used to generate back in the day. There's no doubt that many fans favorite brand under the WWE umbrella is NXT.

Will try and address as many of your Q&A's as I can this week elsewhere here on the site.
